This is the standard 21/0/9 AP mid page: damage, AP scaling, magic penetration, and Executioner in offense. The 9 utility points give Flash cooldown, mana sustain, and Runic Affinity for longer blue buffs.

  • Bushwhack / Pounce (W) takes points at levels 3, 14, 15, 17, 18.
  • Primal Surge / Swipe (E) takes points at levels 2, 8, 10, 12, 13.
  • Aspect Of The Cougar (R) takes points at levels 6, 11, 16.

Max Q first for spear poke and kill threat, then E for sustain and attack-speed utility, with W left for later despite its high trap damage because Season 3 Nidalee was built around landing long-range Qs. The early W point gives trap scouting and resist shred before cougar form.

Alternative — Max Q then W against slow siege or objective-control games where traps are reliably placed before fights and used to punish rotations.

Magic penetration marks are for Javelin Toss and Bushwhack damage; Takedown's cougar execute scales with AD, so AP runes do not help that part. This AP page costs the ordinary support page gold-per-10 quints and some defensive glyph value, making the lane poorer and easier to punish if spears miss.

This is 21/9/0, with 21 in offense to make the AP poke plan real through CDR, AP, magic penetration, Archmage, and Executioner. Compared to the ordinary support page, it gives up utility gold, ward perks, summoner cooldown, and biscuit economy for direct spear and trap damage.

        • Ahri

          AhriEven

Nidalee controls the first move with spear range and healing, but Ahri can dodge with Spirit Rush and punish any cougar commit that gets Charmed.

Watch for Charm catches cougar form and turns Nidalee's engage into Ahri's full combo.

          How to beat

Hold outside Orb of Deception range and throw spears from angles where Ahri has to spend Spirit Rush sideways instead of forward. Do not Pounce in while Charm is up; commit only after she misses Charm or burns multiple Spirit Rush charges dodging poke.

Later Ahri is better in grouped picks, while Nidalee is better at softening teams before a fight and threatening side pressure. In side lane, Nidalee can win if she keeps vision and never gives Ahri a clean Charm from fog.

          • Bushwhack flanks before sieges so Ahri cannot freely Spirit Rush around the side.
          • Heal through Orb poke, but respect the true damage return path.
          • A max-range spear that forces Spirit Rush is already a won trade window.
          • Cougar burst after Charm misses, not after Ahri takes one small spear.
          BuyBanshee's VeilMercury's TreadsHexdrinker
        • Akali

          AkaliUnfavoured

Akali's repeated Shadow Dance casts let her force melee range where Nidalee's spear spacing matters much less.

Watch for Twilight Shroud denies clean targeting and buys time for Mark of the Assassin and Shadow Dance charges.

          How to beat

Abuse pre-6 range and keep Bushwhack on the path Akali must cross, especially inside or at the edge of Twilight Shroud. After level 6, hold Pounce defensively until she spends Shadow Dance, then kite toward brush and re-enter human form for heal and spear resets.

Later Akali wins isolated side-lane all-ins if she reaches Nidalee with charges ready, while Nidalee contributes more before fights through poke and trap control. Group near wards and traps so Akali cannot start from fog for free.

          • A trap inside Twilight Shroud can reveal and shred her if she steps on it.
          • Do not throw Javelin Toss point blank after she marks you; save time to Pounce away.
          • Akali is weakest before Shadow Dance, so make the lane painful early.
          • If she burns multiple Shadow Dance charges on minions, you can turn with cougar.

        • Alistar

          AlistarFavoured

Alistar has trouble ever reaching Nidalee unless she walks into his combo or fights beside a wall or turret.

Watch for Headbutt into Pulverize removes your spacing and can push you into turret or teammates.

          How to beat

Stay at spear range and do not Pounce into melee unless Headbutt is down. If he uses Unbreakable Will, stop trying to burst him and use the duration to reset distance, heal, and re-enter poke range.

Later Alistar is much more relevant in teamfights as a peel and engage support, while Nidalee wins the side lane by ignoring his damage and chipping him down. In grouped fights, poke his carries instead of wasting cooldowns into Unbreakable Will.

          • Stand away from walls so Headbutt cannot trap your retreat path.
          • Unbreakable Will makes cougar all-ins pointless until it fades.
          • He cannot punish missed spears without Flash or brush access.
          • Trap lane entrances because Alistar wants flank angles more than direct chases.
        • Amumu

          AmumuFavoured

Nidalee wins if she dodges Bandage Toss, because Amumu's damage is slow and he cannot stick to her through Pounce and brush speed.

Watch for Bandage Toss starts his only reliable 1v1 lockdown and sets up Curse of the Sad Mummy.

          How to beat

Fight at diagonal range rather than directly in front of him, forcing Bandage Toss to cross minions or obvious space. If he misses Q, land spear or trap and punish in cougar before his next engage cooldown.

Later Amumu is far stronger in 5v5s because Curse of the Sad Mummy can decide the whole fight. Nidalee should split or poke before objectives, making him engage from low health instead of front-to-back at full strength.

          • Never Pounce straight at Amumu while Bandage Toss is ready.
          • Bushwhack reveals his approach around jungle corners.
          • If Curse is down, he has little threat outside melee range.
          • Do not stand in Despair just to finish a low-health target.
          BuyMercury's TreadsBanshee's Veil
        • Anivia

          AniviaUnfavoured

Anivia's wall, stun, slow field, and Rebirth make Nidalee's normal poke-then-cougar kill pattern unreliable.

Watch for Crystallize traps Nidalee in Glacial Storm or blocks the Pounce path after a failed commit.

          How to beat

Stay wide of minion waves so Flash Frost is easier to sidestep and never cougar in unless Flash Frost or Crystallize has been used. If you trigger Rebirth, only stay to kill the egg when you have cooldowns and a clear escape path from Glacial Storm.

Later Anivia controls grouped zones better, while Nidalee is stronger before the fight starts if she can poke from fog. In side lane, Nidalee can pressure towers but struggles to finish Anivia alone through egg and waveclear.

          • Do not chase through narrow jungle paths where Crystallize is guaranteed value.
          • A spear that procs Rebirth is not a kill unless you can hit the egg safely.
          • Pounce sideways out of Glacial Storm before trading back.
          • Her 600 range means careless human-form autos are punishable.

          AnnieUnfavoured

Annie's point-and-click stun burst punishes Nidalee's low durability and gives little room to outplay once she is in range.

Watch for Pyromania with Summon: Tibbers gives Annie instant stun burst when Nidalee steps too close.

          How to beat

Track Annie's stun stacks and refuse to cougar forward while Pyromania is ready. Play beyond Disintegrate range, force her to last-hit or shield to change her stack count, then spear and disengage rather than extended trading.

Later Annie is much scarier in grouped fights because Flash Tibbers can erase Nidalee or her carries. Nidalee should siege from long range and keep traps on flank paths so Annie cannot walk into flash range unseen.

          • Count Pyromania before every cougar attempt.
          • Do not heal-bait at low health; Tibbers damage lands instantly.
          • Bushwhack side brush where Annie waits for Flash angles.
          • A missed Incinerate is less important than whether her stun is ready.

        • Ashe

          AsheEven

Nidalee has stronger burst and sustain, but Ashe can turn one hit with Enchanted Crystal Arrow into a long Frost Shot chase.

Watch for Enchanted Crystal Arrow stuns Nidalee long enough for Ashe to start permanent Frost Shot kiting.

          How to beat

Poke from outside Volley and avoid straight-line retreats where Arrow is easy. Commit after Arrow is down or after a heavy spear lands, using Pounce to close from brush before Ashe can stack slows with basic attacks.

Later Ashe scales better in structured teamfights with initiation and sustained DPS, while Nidalee is better in side pressure and pre-fight poke. Do not duel her in open lane after she has space to kite; use brush and fog to create short trades.

          • Stand off the minion line so Volley cannot tag you for free.
          • Brush movement speed helps break Frost Shot chase patterns.
          • If Arrow misses, Ashe has no hard stop for cougar form.
          • Do not Pounce in from max distance while she is facing you with Arrow ready.

          BlitzcrankFavoured

Nidalee wins the duel at range, but a single Rocket Grab can turn it into Blitzcrank's melee combo and Mana Barrier stall.

Watch for Rocket Grab removes all spacing and drags Nidalee into Power Fist and Static Field.

          How to beat

Keep minions, traps, or terrain between you and Rocket Grab, then punish the cooldown with spears and autos. When Mana Barrier triggers, pause the all-in unless you can finish cleanly after the shield fades.

Later Blitzcrank matters more as a pick support than as a side-lane duelist. Nidalee should trap jungle entrances and siege from angles where he has to choose between fishing hooks and eating poke.

          • Do not cougar into him while Rocket Grab is available.
          • Mana Barrier makes low-health Blitzcrank deceptively hard to finish.
          • Pounce sideways after Overdrive starts; he wants a predictable hook line.
          • Trap brush he controls so he cannot hook from fog for free.

        • Brand

          BrandEven

Both champions are skillshot-heavy burst mages, with Nidalee owning longer poke and Brand owning the harder punish if he lands his stun setup.

Watch for Sear on a Blazed target stuns Nidalee and guarantees Brand's follow-up damage.

          How to beat

Stay outside Conflagration range when Blaze is on you, because that makes Sear much easier to convert. Commit only after Sear misses or Pillar of Flame is down, and avoid fighting near minions once Pyroclasm is available.

Later Brand is stronger in clustered teamfights, while Nidalee is stronger before teams fully engage. Split the fight with traps and long spears; do not stand near allies or minions when Brand has Pyroclasm.

          • After Conflagration tags you, move laterally immediately for Sear.
          • Do not all-in through a minion wave when Pyroclasm can bounce.
          • Brand has no dash, so max-range spear pressure sticks.
          • Pillar of Flame's delay is your cue to Pounce out, not trade.

        • Cho'Gath

          Cho'GathFavoured

Nidalee can kite Cho'Gath and punish his size with spears, but she loses quickly if Rupture or Feral Scream catches her in Feast range.

Watch for Feral Scream silences Nidalee, preventing heal, spear, and Pounce during Cho'Gath's kill window.

          How to beat

Play at spear range and keep moving sideways so Rupture has to predict rather than react. Only cougar in after Rupture or Feral Scream is down, and leave before Feast range becomes unavoidable.

Later Cho'Gath becomes difficult to kill in side lane, but he still struggles to force Nidalee alone. In teamfights he offers frontline control, so Nidalee should poke past him or trap flanks rather than burn everything into his health bar.

          • His larger model makes long Javelin Toss easier to land late.
          • Never Pounce into cone range while Feral Scream is ready.
          • Bushwhack's resistance shred matters more against his tank builds.

        • Corki

          CorkiUnfavoured

Corki matches Nidalee's poke, can dodge or disengage with Valkyrie, and wins extended trades with Gatling Gun and true-damage autos.

Watch for Valkyrie denies Nidalee's spear follow-up or turns her cougar commit into a losing chase through the fire trail.

          How to beat

Force Valkyrie with spear pressure before committing, then punish while it is down. Avoid standing in Gatling Gun's cone; take short poke trades with heal resets instead of auto-for-auto fights.

Later Corki is stronger in teamfights and late extended duels, especially if he has room to kite. Nidalee should look for fog spears before objectives and avoid side-lane fights where Corki can Valkyrie over terrain safely.

          • Do not chase through Valkyrie's burn trail in cougar form.
          • A missed Phosphorus Bomb is a small window; a used Valkyrie is the real one.
          • Gatling Gun makes close-range armor trades worse than they look.

        • Dr. Mundo

          Dr. MundoEven

Nidalee can kite and poke Dr. Mundo, but Sadism and Infected Cleaver make him hard to finish and dangerous if he lands repeated slows.

Watch for Infected Cleaver repeatedly slows Nidalee and lets Mundo walk through poke until Sadism takes over.

          How to beat

Fight from behind minions and brush so Cleaver has to be aimed through bad angles. Do not spend cougar burst into Sadism unless he is already low enough to finish through the regeneration; otherwise reset and wait it out.

Later Mundo becomes a stronger side-lane stat check if Nidalee lacks healing reduction, while Nidalee is better at poking his backline before he can force a fight. Use traps to shred resistances and make the team burn him after Sadism is down.

          • Minions are your best shield against Infected Cleaver.
          • Bushwhack before trading so his resistances are lower during Sadism.
          • Do not judge his kill range by his current health while ultimate is ready.

        • Evelynn

          EvelynnUnfavoured

Evelynn's camouflage and fast melee burst punish Nidalee before she can set ideal spear distance.

Watch for Shadow Walk lets Evelynn start the duel from detection range instead of from spear range.

          How to beat

Keep Bushwhack and wards on likely approach paths, then kite immediately when she appears instead of trying to line up a spear. If Agony's Embrace is down or misses, turn with heal into cougar burst after Ravage has been spent.

Later Evelynn is better at finding picks in messy rotations, while Nidalee is better when the map is trapped and fights start from visible poke. In side lane, Nidalee needs defensive vision before pushing because the duel is much worse when Evelynn starts first.

          • Bushwhack is a real anti-Evelynn tool; place it where she must path, not randomly in lane.
          • Do not face-check brush for a spear angle against camouflage.
          • If she opens with Agony's Embrace and misses the slow, you can kite her out.
          • Heal before the second Ravage-style burst window if you cannot escape.

        • Ezreal

          EzrealEven

Ezreal and Nidalee both play mobile poke patterns, so the duel depends on whether Nidalee can force Arcane Shift before her real spear lands.

Watch for Arcane Shift dodges Javelin Toss and repositions Ezreal out of cougar follow-up.

          How to beat

Use spears and traps to pressure his movement, but do not Pounce in until Arcane Shift is down. Stand behind minions to deny Mystic Shot cooldown resets, then punish the longer cooldown window when he shifts aggressively.

Later Ezreal brings safer sustained poke in teamfights, while Nidalee has higher single-spear pick threat and better brush-based side pressure. Keep fights around fog and terrain so he cannot simply kite backward in a straight lane.

          • Minions blocking Mystic Shot also slow his cooldown cycle.
          • A defensive Arcane Shift is your invitation to take space, not always to dive.
          • Do not cougar in if Essence Flux and Mystic Shot are both lined up for the chase.
          • Trap the landing zones he likes to Shift toward near walls.

        • Fiddlesticks

          FiddlesticksEven

Nidalee can interrupt his setup with range and burst, but Terrify into Drain or Crowstorm punishes any close commit.

Watch for Terrify stops Nidalee during cougar form and lets Fiddlesticks channel Drain or keep her inside Crowstorm.

          How to beat

Stay outside Terrify range and poke until he is too low to channel safely. If he uses Drain, break distance with Pounce rather than trading into it; commit only after Terrify is down or from a range where spear has already chunked him.

Later Fiddlesticks is stronger in hidden flank teamfights, while Nidalee is stronger when objectives are trapped and his channels are spotted early. Keep Bushwhack and wards around walls so Crowstorm cannot start unseen.

          • Do not Pounce into Terrify range just because Drain is on cooldown.
          • Bushwhack over walls can reveal Crowstorm setup paths.
          • Dark Wind silence can ruin a heal timing, so avoid fighting beside minion waves.
          • If Terrify is down, Fiddlesticks is much easier to burst before Drain matters.

        • Gangplank

          GangplankEven

Gangplank's Parrrley trades and Remove Scurvy sustain let him survive poke, but Nidalee can outmaneuver him if she avoids extended melee and Cannon Barrage slows.

Watch for Parrrley gives Gangplank reliable ranged damage that ignores Nidalee's usual skillshot spacing advantage.

          How to beat

Trade around brush movement and heals, forcing him to use Remove Scurvy for health before you commit. Avoid fighting inside Cannon Barrage; once it is down and he is chipped by spear or trap, cougar can win the short burst trade.

Later Gangplank scales into stronger teamwide utility and crit threat, while Nidalee keeps better pick pressure before teams engage. In side lane, the fight stays playable if Nidalee controls brush and does not eat repeated Parrrley trades for free.

          • Doran's Shield value is unusually high into Parrrley lanes.
          • Do not chase through Cannon Barrage just to land Takedown.
          • Remove Scurvy does not cleanse your poke plan, only buys him time.

        • Garen

          GarenFavoured

Nidalee wins if she never lets Garen turn Decisive Strike into a silence because he cannot force repeated melee contact through spears, traps, heal, brush speed, and Pounce resets.

Watch for Decisive Strike: the speed burst breaks slows and lets Garen silence you before Judgment and Demacian Justice.

          How to beat

Hold maximum human range and tag him whenever Perseverance is about to restart. Save cougar Pounce to exit after he spends Decisive Strike, then re-enter only when he is below spear-plus-Takedown range. Do not brawl inside Judgment unless his Q is already down.

Later Garen becomes hard to kill in the side lane but still cannot reach Nidalee cleanly without flank terrain. In teamfights he wants to flash or run at carries, so Nidalee should poke before the engage and punish him after Decisive Strike is gone rather than trying to front-to-back duel him.

          • A light auto or Bushwhack reset keeps Perseverance from undoing your poke.
          • If he starts Decisive Strike from brush, cougar away immediately; do not wait for the silence range.
          • Bushwhack in lane brush makes his regen pattern and all-in path much worse.
          • Demacian Justice only matters after you choose to stay melee too long.

        • Gragas

          GragasEven

The duel is skill-based because Nidalee outranges and sustains poke, but Gragas can erase her spacing with Body Slam into Explosive Cask.

Watch for Body Slam: it closes the gap, slows you, and sets up Barrel Roll or Explosive Cask before you can kite.

          How to beat

Stay outside Body Slam range and make him use it defensively before committing in cougar. Throw spears from angles where Barrel Roll cannot both zone you and cover his retreat. If Explosive Cask is up, do not cougar forward unless he is low enough to die through the displacement.

Later Gragas usually has more teamfight control while Nidalee has better siege poke and side-lane mobility. In a side lane, Nidalee can whittle him down, but once both are finished she should not stand near walls or minion waves where Cask can force a full combo.

          • Pounce sideways after he starts Body Slam; straight back is easier for him to line up.
          • Bushwhack on his approach path makes his tankiness drop before Takedown.
          • Do not chase through a delayed Barrel Roll; the attack-speed slow ruins cougar follow-up.
          • Human heal can outlast Happy Hour only if you avoid eating every barrel.

        • Heimerdinger

          HeimerdingerUnfavoured

Heimerdinger wins prepared ground because turrets and rockets punish Nidalee's need to approach after landing poke.

Watch for H-28G Evolution Turret: stacked turrets control the duel space and make cougar commits cost too much health.

          How to beat

Do not fight inside his turret nest; clear turrets with max-range spears and autos, then look for a spear when he steps away from them. Bait CH-1 Concussion Grenade before cougaring in, because the direct stun stops your burst and leaves you under turret fire. If he refuses to leave setup, take the wave and rotate instead of forcing the duel.

Later Nidalee is better at roaming and poke, but Heimer still owns fixed objectives if he has time to set turrets. In teamfights, Nidalee should attack from fog and side angles instead of walking through the turret line.

          • Bushwhack behind his turret setup catches the retreat he wants after rockets.
          • A grenade blind weakens your cougar finish even if the stun misses.
          • Spearing Heimer is not enough if three turrets are already hitting you.

        • Janna

          JannaFavoured

Nidalee wins the honest 1v1 because Janna lacks damage, but Janna is difficult to finish through shield, speed, knockup, and Monsoon.

Watch for Monsoon: it knocks Nidalee out of cougar range and resets the fight with healing.

          How to beat

Hold spear range and make Janna spend Eye Of The Storm before committing. Save Pounce until after Howling Gale is released or clearly aimed elsewhere. Once Monsoon is down, cougar can chase her through Zephyr's slow as long as you keep brush speed or a trap reveal.

Later They mostly meet in teamfights, where Janna's disengage is more valuable than her dueling. Nidalee should poke before Janna can shield the target and avoid diving into Monsoon unless the reset has already been forced.

          • Do not leap in while Howling Gale is charging from fog.
          • Eye Of The Storm can block the spear that was supposed to start your all-in.
          • A trap reveal matters because Janna often escapes through brush with Zephyr speed.
          • If Monsoon is available, expect your first cougar entry to fail.
        • Jarvan IV

          Jarvan IVEven

Nidalee can kite and poke Jarvan, but one clean flag-and-drag into Cataclysm can trap her long enough for his burst to win.

Watch for Cataclysm: it locks Nidalee in a small arena where her range advantage and brush paths disappear.

          How to beat

Stand far enough that Demacian Standard plus Dragon Strike cannot reach without him flashing. If he misses the knockup, punish immediately with spear, trap, and cougar before the cooldown returns. Keep Pounce available for after Cataclysm terrain drops or when you can jump to an edge rather than deeper into him.

Later Jarvan scales into a stronger hard-engage teamfighter, while Nidalee remains better at siege and side pressure. In side lane, Nidalee can win if she denies the combo, but in grouped fights she should play outside Cataclysm range and punish his exit.

          • Bushwhack at your feet before he engages lowers his resistances during the all-in.
          • Do not cougar in while Demacian Standard is still uncast.
          • His Martial Cadence first hit makes short trades worse than they look.

        • Jax

          JaxUnfavoured

Jax beats Nidalee if he reaches her because Leap Strike and Counter Strike deny her basic-attack weaving and force a melee stat check.

Watch for Counter Strike: it dodges your autos, reduces area damage, and threatens a stun that lets Jax finish the trade.

          How to beat

Poke from maximum range and never use cougar as the opener while Counter Strike is ready. Bait Leap Strike with brush movement or a short human-form step, then Pounce away and turn once Counter Strike expires. Commit only after he has spent both Leap Strike and Counter Strike or after a long spear lands.

Later Jax wins the finished side lane if he can force repeated contact, while Nidalee contributes more before fights through poke. Teamfights are about never letting him flank onto you; trap approaches and save Pounce for his Leap Strike target selection.

          • Do not Takedown into active Counter Strike; wait for the stun window to end.
          • A trap reveal before his Leap Strike makes the chase easier to kite.

          KarthusFavoured

Nidalee wins because she can dodge Lay Waste, heal poke, and burst Karthus before Defile wins an extended close-range fight.

Watch for Wall of Pain: the slow and resistance shred make Lay Waste chains and Defile much harder to escape.

          How to beat

Fight at spear range and move unpredictably between autos so isolated Lay Waste misses. If Wall of Pain lands, disengage first; cougaring through it gives him the duel he wants. After he uses Wall or misses repeated Qs, land spear and finish quickly while leaving enough health to survive Death Defied casts.

Later Karthus is far more dangerous in full teamfights because Requiem and Death Defied still matter after he dies. Nidalee should pressure side lanes and poke from fog, then avoid standing in his corpse zone after a kill.

          • Do not finish him at low health unless you can immediately Pounce out of Death Defied range.
          • Bushwhack reveal makes his wall setup easier to read from fog.
          • His short attack range lets you auto-harass between spear attempts.

        • Kassadin

          KassadinUnfavoured

Kassadin is a bad duel because Void Stone blunts Nidalee's magic poke and Riftwalk plus Null Sphere let him choose when the fight happens.

Watch for Null Sphere: the silence stops your heal, cougar swap timing, or escape cast while Kassadin trades on top of you.

          How to beat

Punish him before level 6 with autos, traps, and spears while Riftwalk is unavailable. After 6, hold distance wider than Riftwalk plus Null Sphere and save cougar Pounce until after he blinks. Only commit when his Riftwalk stacks are mismanaged or he has used it away from you.

Later Kassadin becomes the stronger side-lane duelist and backline diver once finished. Nidalee's job shifts to earlier poke, trapping flank routes, and forcing objectives before Kassadin gets a clean Riftwalk chain.

          • Do not rely on one spear; Void Stone makes magic poke less decisive.
          • Bushwhack on flank entrances punishes his predictable Riftwalk angles.
          • If he silences human Nidalee, your heal and transform timing can both collapse.

        • Katarina

          KatarinaFavoured

Nidalee wins if she holds spacing because Katarina has to Shunpo into cougar burst and has no crowd control to stop Nidalee's disengage.

Watch for Death Lotus: if Nidalee has already used Pounce or is trapped in melee, the channel can shred her before she exits.

          How to beat

Stay at spear range and make Katarina use Shunpo to dodge or farm before you commit. When she Shunpos onto you, Pounce out of Death Lotus radius first, then re-enter after the channel or force her to cancel by leaving range. A landed spear into trap resistance shred makes cougar burst lethal before she can reset anything.

Later Katarina is scarier in teamfights than in the duel because resets from Voracity can snowball through damaged allies. Nidalee should keep her low with poke and save burst for after Shunpo, not dive first into a reset setup.

          • Do not stand next to low-health minions that let Bouncing Blade soften you for free.
          • Trap the Shunpo exit path rather than only the lane center.
          • Pounce out of Death Lotus before attacking; trading inside the channel is her win condition.

        • Kayle

          KayleUnfavoured

Kayle wins extended duels because Reckoning and Righteous Fury let her stick and DPS through Nidalee's poke, while Intervention denies Nidalee's execute window.

Watch for Intervention: it blanks Nidalee's spear or cougar finisher and lets Kayle keep attacking during the all-in.

          How to beat

Poke before Righteous Fury is active and retreat when Kayle has range plus Reckoning slow ready. Do not spend Takedown into Intervention; force the ultimate with a spear or partial cougar trade, disengage, then re-enter after it ends. If she is full health with ultimate up, do not take the straight stat fight.

Later Kayle becomes a stronger sustained side-lane duelist and a much better grouped fight carry protector. Nidalee should play for poke and rotations, forcing Intervention before the real engage rather than trying to solo kill her through it.

          • Boots of Swiftness help against Reckoning because the slow is what lets her keep Righteous Fury on you.
          • Bushwhack before the duel helps your burst after Intervention ends.
          • Do not chase her heal and speed buff in a straight line.

          KennenEven

Nidalee can outrange Kennen with spears, but Kennen wins if he stacks Mark of the Storm into Slicing Maelstrom at close range.

Watch for Slicing Maelstrom: it stacks marks while dealing damage, turning a cougar commit into a stun and full burst window.

          How to beat

Stay outside Lightning Rush engage range and use minions or angles to make Thundering Shuriken harder to land. If he enters Lightning Rush toward you, Pounce away instead of trading into the mark setup. Commit only after Lightning Rush or Slicing Maelstrom is down, or after a long spear puts him too low to stand in melee.

Later Kennen is the stronger teamfight initiator, while Nidalee is better before the fight starts. In side lane the duel remains playable if she respects ultimate, but grouped fights require traps on flank paths and poke before he can flash ult.

        • Kog'Maw

          Kog'MawFavoured

Nidalee wins the duel by abusing mobility and burst before Kog'Maw can stand still with Bio-Arcane Barrage.

Watch for Bio-Arcane Barrage: it gives Kog'Maw the range and percent-health damage to win if Nidalee kites poorly or commits in a straight line.

          How to beat

Fight from fog and diagonals so Living Artillery cannot freely track your approach. Wait out Bio-Arcane Barrage when possible, then land spear and cougar in before it returns. If Void Ooze hits, disengage immediately because the slow gives him the sustained attacks he needs.

Later Kog'Maw becomes a much stronger protected teamfight carry, but remains vulnerable alone. Nidalee should poke him before fights, trap his retreat paths, and never dive through his frontline unless Bio-Arcane Barrage or peel is unavailable.

          • Do not stand on Void Ooze while trying to finish; it turns the chase into his turret mode.
          • After killing him, Pounce away from Icathian Surprise immediately.
          • Bushwhack behind him is strong because he lacks a dash to avoid the reveal path.
          • His 500 base range is shorter than your human range until W extends it.

        • Lee Sin

          Lee SinUnfavoured

Lee Sin wins if Sonic Wave connects because his follow-up, reveal, shield, and Dragon's Rage punish Nidalee's low durability and mobility timing.

Watch for Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike: the first hit marks you and the second closes the gap for burst even after you Pounce.

          How to beat

Keep minions, traps, or terrain between you and Sonic Wave, and never cougar forward while Q is available. If he lands Q, Pounce after he takes Resonating Strike rather than before, so he does not simply follow your escape. Punish missed Q hard with spear into cougar because that is the window where he cannot force the fight.

Later Lee Sin's dueling falls off compared with true carries, but his pick threat and kick remain dangerous. Nidalee should control vision, avoid isolated jungle corridors, and use poke to make him too low to engage.

          • Tempest reveals you, so brush jukes are weaker after he reaches melee.
          • Bushwhack in river entrances can block the clean Q angle he wants.
          • Dragon's Rage can kick you back into his team or away from your escape route.
          • Armor items matter more than damage when he is the one finding you.

        • Leona

          LeonaFavoured

Nidalee wins the solo duel because Leona has low standalone damage, but she can lock Nidalee down long enough for allies in real fights.

Watch for Zenith Blade: it is the engage that lets Leona reach stun range and chain Solar Flare afterward.

          How to beat

Hold outside Zenith Blade range and punish her after it misses, since she has no way to keep up with Pounce and brush speed. If she lands E, Pounce after Shield of Daybreak or Solar Flare crowd control ends, then reset to spear range. Do not waste burst into Eclipse unless you have already shredded her with Bushwhack.

Later Leona matters in teamfights, not side-lane duels; her crowd control can start kills even if she cannot kill Nidalee alone. Nidalee should trap flanks, poke her carries, and avoid being the first target of Solar Flare.

          • Bushwhack reduces the resists she relies on during Eclipse.
          • If Zenith Blade misses, she is briefly just a walking target.
          • Do not cougar into her team after she uses Eclipse; she wants you close for follow-up CC.

        • Lulu

          LuluEven

Nidalee has kill pressure with spear into cougar, but Lulu's Whimsy, shield, slow, and Wild Growth can deny the all-in and turn the chase.

Watch for Whimsy: used on Nidalee, it stops her cougar burst and escape timing long enough for Lulu to kite back.

          How to beat

Poke from outside Glitterlance lines and watch whether Pix is on Lulu or a shield target before committing. Force Help, Pix! or Wild Growth with spear damage, then back off and re-enter after the defensive spell ends. Do not cougar in while Whimsy is ready unless she is already low enough to die before she can kite.

Later Lulu is much stronger in grouped fights because her tools multiply a carry's damage and survivability. Nidalee should use poke to force shields and Wild Growth early, then play the side lane or flank angles instead of diving the protected target.

          • Pix's position changes Glitterlance angles; do not dodge only from Lulu's body.
          • Wild Growth knockup can interrupt your cougar finish at point-blank range.
          • Bushwhack reveal helps track her through Whimsy speed retreats.
          • A spell shield can be valuable when Whimsy is the only thing stopping your kill.

        • Lux

          LuxEven

The duel depends on Light Binding: Nidalee wins around missed bindings with mobility and sustain, while Lux wins if one bind sets up her full combo.

Watch for Light Binding: the root removes Nidalee's dodge and Pounce timing, letting Lux land Lucent Singularity and Finales Funkeln.

          How to beat

Stay behind minions or approach from angles where Light Binding cannot cleanly hit you. Once Binding is down, Nidalee can step forward, land spear, and cougar before Lux has another real stop. Respect Lucent Singularity's slow zone; do not Pounce through it unless Lux is already killable.

Later Lux has stronger instant teamfight pick and shield utility, while Nidalee has better sustained poke and side pressure. Nidalee should keep fog angles, force Prismatic Barrier before objectives, and never stand in a straight line with rooted allies.

          • Light Binding can hit through one target, so hiding behind a single minion is not always safe.
          • Her shield can make a spear look like a false kill window.
          • Bushwhack on side paths pressures Lux because she wants long, straight casting lanes.
          • Banshee's Veil is specifically strong when Binding is the only way she kills you.

        • Malphite

          MalphiteEven

Nidalee can kite and poke Malphite for a long time, but one clean Unstoppable Force turns the duel into a forced burst trade she may not survive.

Watch for Unstoppable Force: it removes Nidalee's spacing and guarantees Malphite's Ground Slam and Seismic Shard follow-up.

          How to beat

Hold max spear range and keep moving through brush so Granite Shield is broken before you ever think about cougar form. Bait Seismic Shard first; if he spends it and cannot steal your speed, you can heal, trap his path, and take short cougar trades before backing out. Never pounce into him while Unstoppable Force is available unless he is already low enough to die immediately.

Later Malphite is the better teamfight champion because his engage decides fights, while Nidalee is stronger at sieging and softening targets first. In side lane, she can usually avoid dying but struggles to kill him through tank items unless traps and spears land repeatedly. Play away from fog and make him ult for one target instead of your whole team.

          • Throw spears after his Granite Shield drops, not into the shield refresh.
          • Bushwhack on his approach path makes his all-in much less durable.
          • Save Pounce until after Seismic Shard unless you are finishing him.

        • Malzahar

          MalzaharUnfavoured

Malzahar's point-and-click suppression punishes Nidalee's low-commitment poke pattern whenever she steps inside his kill range without a cleanse item.

Watch for Nether Grasp: it suppresses Nidalee in Null Zone and stops her from healing, pouncing, or finishing a trade.

          How to beat

Play outside 550 range and make the duel about long Javelin Toss hits, not cougar entries. Clear Voidlings and avoid standing near minions with Malefic Visions bounce pressure, then commit only after Nether Grasp is down or you have a cleanse answer ready. If he misses Call of the Void, that is your window to land spear into cougar burst, but do not chase through Null Zone.

Later Finished Malzahar is still more reliable in picks and front-to-back fights because Nether Grasp forces a cleanse or peel response. Nidalee wins the map before fights by trapping flanks and poking him below ult confidence. In side lane, she can pressure him only if Quicksilver Sash is available or his ultimate is down.

          • Do not cougar pounce at him while Nether Grasp is up.
          • Bushwhack reveals him long enough to punish his short ult range setup.
          • Quicksilver Sash changes the duel from losing to playable.

        • Master Yi

          Master YiEven

Nidalee wins while she can kite and reset with brush, but Master Yi wins extended contact once Highlander and Alpha Strike close the gap.

Watch for Highlander: it ignores Nidalee's slow-based spacing and lets Yi keep attacking through her disengage attempts.

          How to beat

Keep him at spear and auto range before he activates Highlander, and use brush movement to make him spend Alpha Strike just to reach you. After Alpha Strike lands, immediately heal, trap the exit line, and Pounce away rather than trading autos into Wuju Style. Commit in cougar only when Meditate has been interrupted by damage timing or he is already low from poke.

Later Yi becomes much scarier in side lane with finished damage items and can run Nidalee down if she has no terrain or cooldown lead. Nidalee contributes more safely to siege and poke comps, but Yi is the cleanup threat after fights break open. Trap flanks and do not give him a reset target.

          • Do not waste Javelin Toss while Alpha Strike is ready and he is already moving in.
          • Bushwhack where he will reappear or chase after Alpha Strike.
          • Back out during Highlander instead of trying to slow him.

        • Miss Fortune

          Miss FortuneEven

Nidalee has better terrain control and burst setup, while Miss Fortune wins clean ranged trades if Nidalee eats Double Up or Bullet Time.

Watch for Bullet Time: it punishes Nidalee's cougar commit or trapped escape path with channelled cone damage she cannot trade through.

          How to beat

Fight from off-angle spear range and do not stand behind low minions where Double Up can bounce into you. Make It Rain is the main spacing cooldown; once it is down, Nidalee can use brush speed and Pounce to threaten a short cougar burst. If Bullet Time starts, move sideways or pounce out before trying to throw damage back.

Later Miss Fortune is the stronger grouped teamfight carry if Bullet Time gets a clean channel, but Nidalee is better before the fight starts. In side lane, Nidalee can win through poke and all-in timing, though she should not take repeated auto trades. Force MF to fight while chunked or while her ultimate angle is bad.

          • Stand away from your caster minions to deny Double Up bounce damage.
          • Pounce across Bullet Time's cone, not backward through it.
          • Bushwhack in lane brush removes her Strut setup for chasing.

        • Morgana

          MorganaEven

Morgana can deny Nidalee's magic burst setup with Black Shield, but Nidalee can outpace her if Dark Binding is dodged.

Watch for Dark Binding: it pins Nidalee long enough for Tormented Soil and Soul Shackles to force a losing trade.

          How to beat

Stay lateral at spear range and make Dark Binding miss before stepping forward. If Black Shield is active, do not spend the spear-to-cougar combo into it; use the time to reposition or trap her retreat. Commit only after Binding or Black Shield is down, then disengage before Soul Shackles finishes the stun.

Later Morgana is more valuable in grouped fights because Black Shield and Binding protect carries, while Nidalee is better at siege poke. Side lane remains skill-based: Morgana is hard to kill, but she cannot force Nidalee without landing Binding. Keep traps on flank routes so she cannot walk in for Soul Shackles unseen.

          • Do not cougar into Black Shield unless the kill is guaranteed with physical cougar damage.
          • Pounce out of Soul Shackles before the second hit stuns.
          • Throw Javelin Toss from angles that do not line up with Dark Binding.

        • Nasus

          NasusFavoured

Nidalee can punish Nasus before he reaches her, but the fight becomes dangerous if Wither lets him stay in melee with Fury of the Sands active.

Watch for Wither: it removes Nidalee's movement and attack speed, turning her kite pattern into a melee stat check.

          How to beat

Keep him at maximum auto and spear range, using brush speed to reset whenever Wither starts stacking. Harass when he walks up for Siphoning Strike and place Bushwhack where he must pass to farm or chase. Only cougar in after Wither is down or Nasus is already low enough that he cannot answer with ultimate and lifesteal.

Later Nasus eventually wins many side-lane stat checks if he has stacked Siphoning Strike and can force Wither range. Nidalee is still better at avoiding him and poking grouped fights before he reaches the backline. Do not try to duel late Nasus inside Fury of the Sands unless he has been heavily chunked first.

          • Poke him every time he commits to a Siphoning Strike last hit.

          Nunu & WillumpFavoured

Nidalee outranges and outdamages Nunu in a duel as long as she does not stand in Absolute Zero or let Ice Blast chain her into melee range.

Watch for Absolute Zero: it turns a lazy cougar chase into a huge slow zone and burst hit if Nidalee stays near him.

          How to beat

Play at spear range and accept that Consume makes him hard to chip when minions or monsters are nearby. Bait Ice Blast, heal through the poke, then punish his low damage window with spears and short cougar trades. When Absolute Zero starts, Pounce out immediately and re-engage after the channel is broken or wasted.

Later Nunu is more of a teamfight utility champion than a true duelist, so Nidalee should pressure side lanes and poke before objectives. In grouped fights, his slows and Blood Boil matter more than his 1v1 damage. Keep distance and force him to use Absolute Zero defensively.

          • Fight him away from minions and monsters so Consume cannot erase your poke.
          • Never spend Pounce into his body before Absolute Zero is down.

Olaf is built to run through Nidalee's spacing once Undertow lands, and Ragnarok denies the control she needs to disengage.

Watch for Ragnarok: it lets Olaf ignore disable-based peel and keep charging through Nidalee's trap and team control windows.

          How to beat

Hold long range and treat every Undertow as the fight's deciding skillshot. If he misses or cannot pick up the axe, punish with Javelin Toss and autos, but keep Pounce for the next axe rather than for damage. Do not cougar into him while Vicious Strikes and Ragnarok are active; wait them out, then re-enter when his health cost from Reckless Swing matters.

Later Olaf is the stronger side-lane duelist when he can force repeated axes, while Nidalee is stronger at sieging and making him start fights low. In teamfights, he threatens to run past the front line, so Nidalee should kite backward and heal his target instead of trying to duel him in the middle of Ragnarok. Traps on flank routes are critical because he wants a direct line to you.

          • Sidestep Undertow first; damage comes after the slow lands.
          • Do not rely on Bushwhack to stop Ragnarok, use it for shred and vision.

        • Pantheon

          PantheonUnfavoured

Pantheon's targeted stun and early physical burst punish Nidalee before her poke pattern can fully take over.

Watch for Aegis of Zeonia: it guarantees Pantheon's melee burst and stops Nidalee from pouncing out before Heartseeker Strike.

          How to beat

Stay outside leap range whenever his passive shield is ready, and break Aegis Protection with an auto before committing real damage. Make him use Spear Shot for poke, heal it off, then punish when Aegis of Zeonia is down. Cougar form is for finishing after his stun and shield are spent, not for starting the trade.

Later Nidalee scales into better poke and map pressure, while Pantheon remains a pick and flank threat with Grand Skyfall. In a side lane, Pantheon can still kill her if he starts in stun range, but he struggles if she sees him coming and chips him down first. Ward and trap behind yourself because his real value is arriving from fog, not walking at you.

          • Remove Aegis Protection before throwing a max-range spear if you can safely auto.
          • Do not pounce onto him while Aegis of Zeonia is available.

        • Rammus

          RammusEven

Rammus rarely kills Nidalee without a clean Powerball into Taunt, but his defenses make him hard to burst and punish careless cougar autos.

Watch for Puncturing Taunt: it forces Nidalee to attack into Defensive Ball Curl and removes her ability to pounce away.

          How to beat

Keep distance from straight lanes where Powerball can connect, and use traps or brush turns to make him reveal his engage early. Do not auto into Defensive Ball Curl unless you are only breaking a shield or setting up a finish. After Taunt is down, Nidalee can kite him with spears and cougar hits, but she should avoid long melee trades during Tremors.

Later Rammus is more useful in teamfights when he can lock a carry, while Nidalee is better at poke and split pressure if she avoids his engage angle. Side lane is usually a stalemate unless Rammus catches her under Taunt with minions or turret nearby. Keep vision deep because Powerball from fog is his real duel opener.

          • Move perpendicular to Powerball paths instead of backing straight up.
          • Do not cougar auto into Defensive Ball Curl for an extended trade.
          • Bushwhack in jungle corridors gives early warning before Powerball arrives.

Ryze's short-range root and spell rotation beat Nidalee if he gets in range, while Nidalee must land poke before the fight begins.

Watch for Rune Prison: it stops Nidalee's kite and guarantees Ryze's Overload, Spell Flux, and Desperate Power rotation.

          How to beat

Stay outside 550 range and make him walk through spears and traps before he can Rune Prison. If he activates Desperate Power, disengage rather than trading into spell vamp and repeated cooldown cycling. Commit only after he is chunked or Rune Prison is down, and use cougar burst quickly before his passive refreshes another rotation.

Later Ryze becomes a stronger direct duelist with finished mana and defensive items, while Nidalee remains better at poke before objectives. In side lane, she can pressure him only with range advantage and vision; if he reaches root range at high health, he wins. In teamfights, keep him low before he can turn on Desperate Power and run forward.

          • Count Rune Prison range as the danger line, not his auto range.
          • Do not chase during Desperate Power unless he is already dead to the next hit.
          • Bushwhack's resistance shred makes your spear threat much more real into his tanky build.

          ShacoEven

Nidalee wins visible, prepared fights with traps and range, but Shaco wins ambushes where Deceive and Jack In The Box control her escape.

Watch for Deceive: it bypasses Nidalee's poke range and lets Shaco start behind her for Backstab burst.

          How to beat

Trap flank paths and brush entrances so Shaco cannot choose a free Deceive angle. Do not chase into boxes or fog after he drops low; throw spears and force him to re-enter vision instead. Once Deceive is used offensively and the clone is identified, Nidalee can heal, kite, and turn with cougar burst.

Later Shaco is more dangerous in side-lane ambushes and messy jungle fights, while Nidalee is stronger in structured sieges where traps deny his paths. In teamfights, he wants backline chaos; Nidalee should mark likely flank routes and avoid being isolated. The duel is mostly decided before it starts by vision and trap placement.

          • Bushwhack behind you, not only in front of you, when Shaco is missing.
          • Do not spear the Hallucinate clone unless you have confirmed the real one.
          • If Deceive is used to enter, punish the exit timing with cougar form.

        • Shen

          ShenFavoured

Shen is hard to kill quickly but lacks the damage and reach to beat Nidalee if she respects Shadow Dash.

Watch for Shadow Dash: it taunts Nidalee long enough for Shen to force melee contact and interrupt her spacing.

          How to beat

Harass at range and hold Pounce until after Shadow Dash is used or clearly cannot hit. If he shields with Feint, wait it out and keep poking rather than spending your full combo into it. Cougar trades are good after he misses taunt, especially if Bushwhack has reduced his resistances first.

Later Shen is more valuable globally because Stand United can turn fights, but Nidalee pressures side lanes better in the isolated duel. He usually cannot kill her alone unless she wastes Pounce into taunt range. When grouped, Nidalee should poke his team and watch for his teleport rather than tunnel on killing him.

          • Stand off-angle so Shadow Dash has to be aimed, not walked into.
          • Bushwhack where he wants to dash through for the resistance shred.
          • Do not burst into Feint unless you are forcing a shield before the real combo.

          SingedEven

Nidalee can kite Singed forever in open space, but one Fling into Poison Trail and Mega Adhesive can flip the trade.

Watch for Fling: it puts Nidalee behind Singed into Poison Trail and breaks her chosen spacing.

          How to beat

Do not chase directly behind him; fight from side angles with spears and autos, then use Pounce laterally when he turns. Mega Adhesive is the cooldown to respect because it makes Fling much easier to land. Commit in cougar only after he has missed Fling or burned Insanity Potion defensively while already low.

Later Singed becomes a stronger side-lane nuisance because he can proxy, tank, and force bad chases, while Nidalee is better at poke and pick setup around objectives. In teamfights, do not follow him through poison; heal allies and spear the carries he leaves behind. The duel remains playable if Nidalee refuses to chase his path.

          • Never run straight through Poison Trail to finish a low Singed.
          • Pounce sideways out of Mega Adhesive setups, not along his retreat line.
          • Bushwhack at lane exits catches his proxy and flank paths.

        • Sion

          SionEven

Nidalee can poke and kite Sion, but Cryptic Gaze into Death's Caress detonation or Cannibalism can punish any close-range commit.

Watch for Cryptic Gaze: it point-and-click stuns Nidalee and gives Sion time to land shield burst or lifesteal trades.

          How to beat

Stay outside his stun range and break Death's Caress with poke before going in. If Cryptic Gaze is available, do not pounce into melee unless he is low enough to die during the burst. When Cannibalism is active, kite backward and wait it out rather than feeding him repeated attacks to heal from.

Later Sion's finished build can make him a stronger direct melee duelist if he reaches Nidalee, but he is still vulnerable to being kited before contact. Nidalee is better at sieging and forcing him to spend shield early. In grouped fights, respect the stun pick and keep traps between him and your carries.

          • Do not let Death's Caress sit charged while you walk into cougar range.
          • Cryptic Gaze is the whole danger line; play outside it until it is spent.
          • Use Bushwhack before committing so his shield and tank stats matter less.
          • Grievous Wounds are worth it if Cannibalism is deciding extended fights.

        • Sivir

          SivirEven

Sivir can block Nidalee's key spear with Spell Shield, but Nidalee has longer range and better terrain control if she baits it first.

Watch for Spell Shield: it deletes Javelin Toss or Bushwhack setup and gives Sivir the mana and timing to win the return trade.

          How to beat

Use autos, traps, or angled movement to bait Spell Shield before throwing the spear that matters. Avoid standing in minion lines where Boomerang Blade can hit both ways, then punish its cooldown with heal-backed autos and cougar threat. If On The Hunt is active, disengage first and re-enter once her chase window fades.

Later Sivir is the stronger grouped fight and wave-clear champion, while Nidalee is better at poking before Sivir's team can force with On The Hunt. In side lane, the duel is skill-based: Nidalee wins if Spell Shield is baited, Sivir wins if she blocks the spear and keeps autoing. Trap flanks so she cannot simply speed her team into you.

          • Do not throw max-range Javelin Toss into an unused Spell Shield.
          • Stand away from the wave to reduce Boomerang Blade and Ricochet value.
          • Bushwhack can bait Spell Shield without risking your main damage spell.
          • When On The Hunt starts, kite first; her window is stronger than yours.

        • Skarner

          SkarnerFavoured

Nidalee wins if she keeps Skarner out with spears, traps, brush speed, and Pounce, because his duel only becomes scary after he reaches Impale range.

Watch for Impale: suppresses you long enough for Skarner to drag you through Crystal Slash damage and remove your spacing.

          How to beat

Hold long range and make him spend Crystalline Exoskeleton just to approach, then back away until the shield and speed are gone. Trap the path he has to run through and only cougar in after he is chunked or his ultimate is down.

Later Skarner is better in grouped fights because Impale can start a pick, while Nidalee is better at softening him before either side commits. In side lane, he can only win by catching you without Pounce or brush access, so keep vision and play the poke cycle.

          • Do not cougar into him while Crystalline Exoskeleton is still up.
          • A trap hit makes his all-in much easier to kite because the resist shred amplifies both spear and cougar damage.
          • If he flashes or runs directly at you, assume Impale is the whole play and Pounce away before throwing another spear.

        • Sona

          SonaFavoured

Sona cannot match Nidalee's range or burst in a clean duel unless she lands Crescendo before being poked down.

Watch for Crescendo: stuns you in place and lets Sona unload Power Chord and aura damage before you can Pounce out.

          How to beat

Stay outside her aura trade range and force her to heal through Javelin Tosses until she is too low to contest. If Crescendo is available, do not cougar in from the front; bait it with movement, then jump after it misses or is spent.

Later Sona matters much more in teamfights than in side lane because her auras and Crescendo scale with allies around her. Nidalee should poke her team before the engage and punish Sona if she steps forward to tag a heal or ultimate.

          • Track her Power Chord animation before trading; the damage reduction version can ruin your cougar finish.
          • A long spear forces Sona to spend Aria of Perseverance defensively instead of walking up for Crescendo.
          • She has 550 range, so do not take free Hymn of Valor trades while waiting for spear angles.

        • Soraka

          SorakaFavoured

Soraka can stall with heals and silence, but she lacks the damage or mobility to force Nidalee into a losing duel.

Watch for Infuse: silences you during the commit and can stop the Pounce or heal timing you need to finish cleanly.

          How to beat

Poke from outside Starcall range and make Soraka spend Astral Blessing before you transform. Commit only after Infuse is down or when she is already low enough that one cougar rotation wins despite the silence.

Later Soraka is stronger in grouped fights because Wish and Astral Blessing undo poke for multiple targets. Nidalee should keep pressure on side lanes or force repeated spears so Soraka runs out of cooldowns before an objective fight starts.

          • Do not stand in repeated Starcalls; the magic resist shred makes her return damage less harmless than it looks.
          • If Wish is up, expect the first lethal-looking cougar combo to fail.
          • Trap her retreat path so she cannot simply walk away while silencing you.

        • Taric

          TaricFavoured

Taric is durable and punishes short-range commits, but Nidalee can win by never giving him a clean Dazzle into melee range.

Watch for Dazzle: stuns you long enough for Taric to close the gap and stack Shatter plus Radiance damage.

          How to beat

Keep him at spear range and force him to use Dazzle defensively or not at all. If he misses the stun or uses it early, kite backward through brush, then cougar in only after he is low and Shatter's armor aura has not turned the fight into a long melee trade.

Later Taric brings more value in teamfights with armor aura, stun, and Radiance, while Nidalee wins side pressure if she keeps distance. In grouped play, avoid jumping into his team just because he is low; keep spearing around his front line.

          • His Shatter aura makes physical cougar damage worse, so value human-form poke before committing.
          • Dazzle hurts more at close range, which is another reason not to start the fight in cougar.
          • Bushwhack resist shred is especially important before trying to kill him through Imbue.

        • Teemo

          TeemoEven

Nidalee has better burst and sustain, but Teemo can control space with mushrooms and blind her cougar autos during the kill window.

Watch for Noxious Trap: punishes your brush movement and Pounce paths, turning a winning chase into poison damage and a slow.

          How to beat

Fight from fog and long range first, because Teemo's 500 range makes him vulnerable to spears if he has to walk up. Do not chase blindly through brush or lane edges; once Blinding Dart is used, cougar burst is much safer because Takedown and autos are no longer being denied.

Later Teemo's traps make side-lane chasing dangerous, but Nidalee's poke is more useful before grouped fights if she avoids mushroom paths. Buy vision and use traps to contest his setup instead of face-checking for him.

          • A trap reveal can expose him after Camouflage or while he is trying to reset in brush.
          • Wait out Blinding Dart before relying on cougar form to finish him.
          • Do not Pounce in a straight line through common mushroom spots after landing one spear.

        • Tristana

          TristanaUnfavoured

Tristana's range, Rocket Jump reset threat, and Buster Shot make it hard for Nidalee to force a finish at equal strength.

Watch for Buster Shot: knocks you out of cougar range and cancels the exact moment Nidalee wants to convert poke into a kill.

          How to beat

You need to win before the all-in by landing spears from outside her auto range and making Rocket Jump defensive. If she still has Buster Shot, do not commit from max Pounce unless she is already low enough to die after the knockback; otherwise reset and keep poking.

Later Tristana outscales the direct side-lane duel as her range grows and she becomes harder to reach. Nidalee should play fog, force objective poke, and avoid front-to-back fights where Tristana free-hits after disengaging the cougar jump.

          • Stand away from low minions so Explosive Shot splash does not give her free poke.
          • If Rocket Jump is down, her escape is mostly Buster Shot, so angle Pounce to keep a follow-up path.
          • Her range eventually beats yours, so late trades must start from fog or spear hits, not autos.

        • Tryndamere

          TryndamereUnfavoured

Tryndamere can survive Nidalee's burst with Undying Rage and run her down if Spinning Slash connects after she has used Pounce.

Watch for Undying Rage: denies your execute window and gives Tryndamere time to chase through the cooldowns you spent committing.

          How to beat

Stay at maximum poke range and use brush speed to make him spend Spinning Slash before you transform. If he ultimates, stop trying to finish and kite the duration with Pounce, traps, and heal; only re-enter when Undying Rage has expired and he cannot immediately crit you down.

Later Tryndamere becomes a stronger side-lane duelist and structure threat, while Nidalee is better at poking grouped enemies before he can split the map open. Match him only with space and vision; if he reaches you with ultimate up, concede ground instead of giving the all-in.

          • Never use Pounce toward him while Spinning Slash is still available.
          • Mocking Shout only works if your back is turned, so sidestep or face him briefly when retreating if spacing allows.
          • Executioner's Calling matters if your build can apply it, because Bloodlust can undo your poke before the real fight.

        • Twisted Fate

          Twisted FateFavoured

Nidalee wins the isolated duel because Twisted Fate is immobile and fragile once Pick A Card is baited or avoided.

Watch for Pick A Card Gold Card: stuns you and guarantees Wild Cards plus follow-up autos before you can shift forms or Pounce.

          How to beat

Hold spear range and watch the card cycle; back off while Gold Card is locked, then pressure as soon as it is spent on a minion or missed trade. Cougar in only after he has no stun, because otherwise he can stop your burst and walk away with Destiny or Gate pressure elsewhere.

Later Twisted Fate affects the map more with Destiny and Gate, while Nidalee wins the side duel if she sees him coming. Keep traps and wards on flank routes, then punish his arrival with poke instead of letting him choose a Gold Card engage.

          • Do not stand centered in the lane where Wild Cards can hit while he farms.
          • A trap on his Gate arrival path turns his roam into a forced retreat.
          • If Destiny reveals you in brush, give up the ambush and reset spacing.

        • Twitch

          TwitchEven

The duel is volatile: Nidalee can burst Twitch if she finds him first, but Twitch wins hard if Ambush lets him start with stacked poison.

Watch for Ambush: lets Twitch choose the opener and stack Deadly Venom before Nidalee has spacing or a spear angle.

          How to beat

Play around vision and traps, because the first reveal decides the fight. If he opens on you, Pounce sideways out of Spray and Pray's line, heal through the first damage, then re-engage after Venom Cask or Expunge has been used; if you reveal him first, spear before cougaring.

Later Twitch is much stronger in teamfights if he opens with Spray and Pray from stealth, while Nidalee is better before the fight starts. Use traps and wards on flank paths and save cougar commit for after he reveals, not before.

          • Bushwhack is one of your best tools because it can expose his Ambush route before he attacks.
          • Do not run straight away during Spray and Pray; move perpendicular to the firing line.
          • If Expunge is still available at high poison stacks, your heal may not save you.

        • Vayne

          VayneUnfavoured

Vayne outduels Nidalee in close quarters with Tumble, Silver Bolts, and Condemn, especially once Final Hour gives her invisibility windows.

Watch for Condemn: knocks you out of cougar range or stuns you into terrain, ending your burst window and giving Vayne free Silver Bolts procs.

          How to beat

Do not fight her next to walls, ever; give ground until Condemn cannot stun. You need spear damage first, then commit only after Tumble or Condemn has been forced, because a fair auto-for-auto fight favors Vayne.

Later Vayne becomes the better side-lane duelist and tank killer, while Nidalee's job is to chunk her before she can enter Final Hour range. In teamfights, poke from fog and make her use Tumble defensively instead of diving into cougar form.

          • Angle away from walls before changing to cougar form.
          • Final Hour invisibility breaks your target tracking, so use Bushwhack reveal before committing if possible.
          • Her 550 range beats your human autos, so trade with spears, not repeated basic attacks.

        • Veigar

          VeigarEven

Nidalee can punish Veigar's immobility, but one Event Horizon into Primordial Burst can instantly swing the duel.

Watch for Event Horizon: zones or stuns you long enough for Dark Matter and Primordial Burst to land before you can Pounce away.

          How to beat

Stay outside Event Horizon range until you have forced him to cast it, then punish the long cooldown with spear or cougar pressure. Do not jump directly at him while the cage is available; approach diagonally and save Pounce to exit the ring rather than enter it.

Later Veigar's burst becomes more dangerous as AP rises, especially because Primordial Burst scales off your AP too. Nidalee should avoid isolated face-checks, poke from outside cage range, and consider defensive magic resist if he can one-combo her.

          • Your AP makes Primordial Burst hit harder, so late-game health and magic resist matter more than usual.
          • A spear after Event Horizon misses is your cleanest commit signal.
          • If trapped inside the cage, do not panic Pounce through the edge and stun yourself.

        • Warwick

          WarwickEven

Nidalee can kite Warwick for a long time, but Infinite Duress and Hungering Strike let him win if he reaches her with enough health.

Watch for Infinite Duress: suppresses you and gives Warwick a guaranteed damage and healing window before you can disengage.

          How to beat

Keep him at spear range and use brush to deny the straight-line chase, because his pre-ultimate gap closing is limited. Once Infinite Duress is down, he is much easier to kite; before that, do not cougar in unless he is low enough that the post-suppress fight is still yours.

Later Warwick is stronger at forcing a pick with suppression, while Nidalee is stronger at softening him and his team before the fight. In side lane, she can avoid him, but killing him through self-healing takes repeated poke and anti-heal if available.

          • Blood Scent makes low-health escapes worse, so heal before dropping into his chase threshold.
          • Do not spend Pounce aggressively when Infinite Duress is available.
          • Grievous Wounds helps keep Hungering Strike and passive healing from erasing your poke.

        • Wukong

          WukongUnfavoured

Wukong's dash, stealth, armor shred, and Cyclone let him force melee combat where Nidalee's spacing tools matter less.

Watch for Cyclone: knocks you up during his all-in and prevents Nidalee from kiting or finishing her cougar rotation.

          How to beat

Stay away from your minion wave so Nimbus Strike cannot use it as an easy bridge to you. When he uses Decoy, stop chasing and reposition; commit only after Cyclone is down or after he has wasted Nimbus Strike and cannot stick to your Pounce.

Later Wukong is far stronger in grouped fights because Cyclone can disrupt multiple champions, while Nidalee is better before the engage starts. In side lane, she can poke him down, but a full-health all-in near minions or brush favors Wukong.

          • If he suddenly stops moving after engaging, assume Decoy and hold your spear for the real Wukong.
          • Do not stand near minions when Nimbus Strike is up.

        • Zilean

          ZileanEven

Zilean is hard to pin down because Time Warp and Chronoshift can deny Nidalee's chase and reset her kill attempt.

Watch for Chronoshift: revives Zilean after your burst, making a cougar commit turn into a wasted all-in.

          How to beat

Poke first and force him to spend Time Warp defensively, then keep enough distance that Time Bombs do not stack you out of the lane. If Chronoshift is available, either wait it out after triggering it or disengage immediately; do not remain in melee for the revive timer unless you can kill him again.

Later Zilean is more valuable in teamfights because Chronoshift can save a carry, while Nidalee's value is landing poke before that protection matters. In side lane, she can pressure him, but he can usually speed away unless caught by spear or trap first.

          • Time Warp can be a slow on you or a speed-up for him, so do not count on one Pounce being enough.
          • A trapped Zilean is much easier to hit with spear because his escape path is revealed.
          • If he has Chronoshift ready, save cooldowns for after the revive instead of spending everything on the first health bar.
