The Plague Rat
How this differs from the live game
- Ambush (Q) has changed from camouflage to invisibility
- Venom Cask (W) does not linger on the ground

Flat AD marks support last-hitting and directly improve Expunge through its bonus AD ratio; armor seals and MR glyphs are the standard bot-lane durability page. Lifesteal quints were common on Season 3 ADCs to sustain Doran's Blade lanes; swap to AD quints only if playing for stronger level-1 trading.
This is a standard 21/9/0 ADC page: offense gives attack speed, AD, armor penetration, crit scaling, and Executioner for cleanups. The 9 defense points add lane health, armor, and the Barrier improvement.
Skill order
ultimate at 6, 11 and 16Deadly Venom
- Ambush (Q) takes points at levels 2, 8, 10, 12, 13.
- Venom Cask (W) takes points at levels 3, 14, 15, 17, 18.
- Expunge (E) takes points at levels 1, 4, 5, 7, 9.
- Spray and Pray (R) takes points at levels 6, 11, 16.
Max E first because Expunge is Twitch's reliable lane damage and benefits from AD, then max Q for longer Ambush pressure and stronger attack-speed windows. W is taken early for venom application and slows, then left until late.

Doran's Blade start — Default ADC start when you expect normal laning or need the strongest level-1 health, AD, and on-hit sustain package.
Boots and sustain start — Use against skillshot or poke lanes where dodging and repeated potion sustain matter more than Doran's immediate combat stats.

Notes
the author's own wordsGlass Cannon Twitch
Twitch usually runs crit and attack speed, so this pushes as much of that off his itemization and onto the runes and masteries instead.
is the first real spike — the wave clear and the teamfight damage arrive in the same purchase.
There is no defensive item here. If you get caught, you die.

Matchup against
62 champions, one-on-one
AhriEven
Twitch wins if he opens from Ambush after Charm is down, but Ahri can stop the duel immediately with Charm into Orb of Deception and Spirit Rush away from Spray and Pray.
Watch for Charm: it locks Twitch long enough for Ahri to land both halves of Orb of Deception and control the range.
How to beat
Do not reveal inside Charm range unless you are already moving sideways and have room to chase. Bait Charm from stealth or with a short step forward, then commit with Venom Cask and Spray and Pray before Spirit Rush creates too much distance. If she holds Charm, keep the fight at max auto range and force her to spend dashes defensively.
Later Finished items make the side lane volatile: Ahri has pick threat, Twitch has higher sustained kill pressure if Charm misses. In teamfights, stay unseen until Charm and the first Spirit Rush dash are committed, then enter from an angle where Spray and Pray pierces her backline.
- Ambush movement lets you approach from off-line angles so Charm is harder to pre-aim.
- Do not chase directly through Orb of Deception's return path.
- If Ahri uses Spirit Rush only to kite, keep firing Spray and Pray through her escape line rather than walking into Charm.

AkaliUnfavoured
Akali's repeated Shadow Dance access and Twilight Shroud break Twitch's clean DPS window unless he reveals her or kills her before she gets resets of space.
Watch for Twilight Shroud: it denies Twitch's target while Akali waits out Expunge timing and prepares another Shadow Dance.
How to beat
Hold the fight outside shroud range until Akali spends Shadow Dance to enter, then drop Venom Cask and kite backward instead of standing in the smoke. Commit only when she is visible and already carrying several Deadly Venom stacks, because Expunge before shroud often wastes your kill pressure. If she shrouds with high health, leave the circle and reset with Ambush rather than dueling blind.
Later Akali usually wins isolated side-lane jumps if she reaches Twitch first, while Twitch is much stronger in grouped fights when she has to cross vision and crowd control. Stay with teammates, force her shroud in front of your team, and save Expunge until she reappears or is low enough to finish.
- Venom Cask can mark Akali before she shrouds, but it does not solve targeting by itself.
- Do not open with Spray and Pray if she can instantly drop Twilight Shroud and waste its duration.
- Akali's first Shadow Dance is the signal to kite, not to stand and race damage.

AlistarFavoured
Alistar is too durable to burst during Unbreakable Will but lacks sustained damage, so Twitch wins by kiting outside Pulverize and refusing the combo.
Watch for Headbutt into Pulverize: it removes Twitch's spacing and gives Alistar his only real damage window.
How to beat
Hold more than Pulverize range and make Alistar spend Headbutt just to touch you. If he activates Unbreakable Will, stop trying to finish and kite until the damage reduction ends, then restack Deadly Venom. Commit after the combo is down, using Venom Cask to keep him from walking back in.
Later Alistar does not beat Twitch in a pure side-lane duel unless Twitch walks into his crowd control near a turret. In teamfights, he is a peel and engage problem, so wait for Headbutt and Pulverize to hit someone else or be forced defensively before revealing.
- Do not Expunge into Unbreakable Will unless it secures the kill.
- Ambush can dodge the first engage by changing your approach angle, but Alistar can still punish a reveal too close.
- If Alistar Headbutts you away without Pulverize, use the spacing to keep firing instead of immediately chasing back in.

AmumuFavoured
Twitch outranges and outdamages Amumu in an open duel, but getting hit by Bandage Toss lets Amumu chain Curse of the Sad Mummy and keep Twitch inside Despair.
Watch for Bandage Toss: it starts Amumu's full lockdown and puts Twitch in range of Despair and Curse of the Sad Mummy.
How to beat
Fight at max range and move laterally until Bandage Toss is used. Once it misses, Ambush or step forward with Spray and Pray and kite him in a straight line away from his body. If Curse of the Sad Mummy is still up, do not stand close enough for him to flash or walk into it for free.
Later Twitch wins the side lane if he respects Bandage Toss, but Amumu's teamfight engage is far more important than the duel. Stay outside his flash-ultimate radius while hidden, then reveal after Curse of the Sad Mummy is spent.
- Spray and Pray lets you damage Amumu without entering Curse of the Sad Mummy range.
- Venom Cask after Bandage Toss misses makes Amumu's retreat too slow to matter.
- If Bandage Toss lands, use QSS immediately before the follow-up stun chain decides the fight.

AniviaUnfavoured
Anivia's range, wall control, burst, and Rebirth make Twitch's one-window assassination unreliable unless Flash Frost is down and he can finish the egg safely.
Watch for Flash Frost: the stun lets Anivia land Frostbite, wall the escape, and force Twitch to fight through Rebirth.
How to beat
Do not reveal in a corridor where Crystallize can trap you with Glacial Storm. Bait Flash Frost first, then open from Ambush at an angle where Spray and Pray can hit Anivia and the egg without walking through the storm. If she still has Rebirth and you cannot kill the egg before her cooldowns return, disengage after forcing the passive.
Later Anivia controls side lanes better with waveclear and terrain, but Twitch can kill her if she is caught away from walls and misses Flash Frost. In teamfights, avoid being the first target; wait for Flash Frost or Crystallize, then use Spray and Pray through her stationary backline.
- Crystallize is strongest against Twitch near jungle walls, so avoid revealing in narrow paths.
- Expunge before Rebirth can leave you without damage to kill the egg.
- Spray and Pray can finish the egg from safer range if you line it up before she drops.

AnnieUnfavoured
Annie's point-and-click stun burst outranges Twitch's safe commit window, so he must either catch her without Pyromania or die before his poison damage matters.
Watch for Pyromania with Summon: Tibbers: the stored stun turns Annie's ultimate into instant lockdown and burst.
How to beat
Track Pyromania; if Annie has stun ready, do not reveal inside Tibbers range unless you can kill instantly. Force her to spend the stun on a wave, monster, or teammate, then use Ambush to enter and burst with Spray and Pray before she cycles another spell rotation. Keep moving after the opener because Incinerate and Disintegrate still punish short-range chasing.
Later Annie remains favored in isolated fog-of-war picks, while Twitch is better if he starts the fight unseen after her stun is used. In teamfights, wait for Tibbers or the stun charge to be spent before revealing, even if that delays your damage.
- A visible Pyromania stun is a stop sign, not a challenge to out-DPS her.
- Do not auto Annie during Molten Shield longer than needed if you are already in lethal burst range.
- Ambush is best used to choose the timing after stun is down, not to walk straight at a prepared Annie.

AsheEven
Twitch has higher ambush burst, but Ashe's longer range, Frost Shot, and Enchanted Crystal Arrow can stop him from ever getting a clean chase.
Watch for Enchanted Crystal Arrow: it stuns Twitch at the start of his reveal or during his chase and lets Ashe control the duel's first damage window.
How to beat
Approach from Ambush diagonally rather than straight down the lane so Arrow is harder to line up. If Arrow misses or is down, commit hard with Venom Cask and Spray and Pray because Ashe cannot match the burst once Twitch is already in range. If she lands Frost Shot first, do not chase without a slow of your own or you will be kited outside Expunge lethal.
Later Side lane depends on Arrow: Ashe wins if she catches Twitch first, Twitch wins if he opens unseen after it is down. In teamfights, Twitch has the stronger damage ceiling, but he must not reveal in a line where Arrow can instantly cancel his ultimate window.
- Ashe's 600 range lets her tag Twitch before he can auto unless Ambush sets the angle.
- Venom Cask is your answer to Frost Shot kiting after Arrow is gone.
- Spray and Pray can hit Ashe from beyond normal range, but only if she cannot stun you during the channel.

BlitzcrankFavoured
Blitzcrank loses the damage race badly if Rocket Grab misses, but landing it gives him enough knockup and silence time to kill or force Twitch out.
Watch for Rocket Grab: it removes Twitch's range advantage and pulls him into Power Fist and Static Field.
How to beat
Never reveal in a straight line with no minions unless Rocket Grab is down. Once he misses it, kite back through Venom Cask and punish during the long cooldown, saving Expunge for after Mana Barrier appears if possible. If he Overdrives toward you, keep spacing instead of turning until Power Fist is no longer a guaranteed hit.
Later Twitch wins side-lane duels as long as he does not get hooked from fog. In teamfights, Blitzcrank is mostly a pick threat: stay invisible until Rocket Grab is used or blocked, then punish his team while he has no way to reach you.
- Mana Barrier can make early Expunge look lethal when it is not.
- Do not stand still during Spray and Pray; Blitzcrank can still hook the line you are firing from.
- Ambush lets you choose a side angle where minions block Rocket Grab.

BrandUnfavoured
Brand's spell burst and Blaze punish Twitch's low durability, and one Sear stun usually ends the duel before Twitch can stack enough venom.
Watch for Sear on a Blazed target: it stuns Twitch and guarantees Brand's delayed damage connects.
How to beat
Do not open while already tagged by Blaze, because Sear becomes the duel-ending spell. Bait Pillar of Flame or Conflagration, then enter from Ambush with sideways movement and commit only if Sear misses. Keep enough distance that Pyroclasm cannot bounce through nearby units and back onto you.
Later Brand is still dangerous in isolated brush or minion waves, but Twitch's late-game teamfight damage is higher if he waits out the first spell rotation. Reveal after Brand uses Sear or Pyroclasm, and avoid fighting him beside clustered allies or minions.
- A minion wave can make Pyroclasm much worse for Twitch, not safer.
- If Brand tags you with Conflagration, expect Sear immediately and dodge before attacking.
- Hexdrinker effects matter because most of Brand's kill window is magic burst plus Blaze.

Cho'GathEven
Twitch can kite Cho'Gath down, but Rupture into Feral Scream and Feast gives Cho'Gath a lethal window if Twitch is caught close.
Watch for Feral Scream: the silence prevents Ambush, Venom Cask, and Expunge while Cho'Gath walks into Feast range.
How to beat
Stay outside cone range and treat Rupture as the spell that decides whether you can commit. If Rupture misses, use Spray and Pray and kite backward so Cho'Gath cannot silence into Feast. Do not greed for Expunge if he is close enough to silence first; cast before the cone or disengage.
Later Cho'Gath becomes harder to kill in side lane as Feast stacks and tank items grow, so Twitch needs space and time rather than a short all-in. In teamfights, hit through him with Spray and Pray when possible, but do not step into silence range just to finish him.
- Rupture's delay gives you a dodge window; save your hard commit until after it lands or misses.
- Feast makes low-health bait dangerous, even if Cho'Gath looks kited.
- Madred's Bloodrazor is one of the few catalog items that specifically changes the tank duel.

CorkiEven
Corki has stronger front-loaded trading with Phosphorus Bomb and Gatling Gun, while Twitch wins longer fights if he opens unseen and Corki cannot Valkyrie out.
Watch for Valkyrie: it denies Twitch's Spray and Pray chase or turns the fight by dragging him through the fire trail.
How to beat
Open from Ambush when Valkyrie is down or when Corki must use it sideways instead of away. Avoid standing in Gatling Gun's cone because the armor reduction makes the marksman duel swing quickly. Once Corki Valkyries defensively, keep firing with Spray and Pray only if you can avoid the trail and still maintain range.
Later The side lane is skill-dependent: Corki can poke and escape, Twitch can assassinate if he controls the opener. In teamfights, Twitch usually offers the stronger hidden flank, while Corki contributes safer poke; wait for Valkyrie before committing to chase him.
- Phosphorus Bomb can reveal and chunk Twitch as he starts the duel.
- Do not chase through Valkyrie's fire just to keep Deadly Venom stacks alive.
- If Gatling Gun is facing away or on cooldown, Twitch's sustained autos take over.

Dr. MundoEven
Twitch can kite Dr. Mundo with poison stacks, but Sadism and Infected Cleaver make the duel a long chase where missed spacing loses the fight.
Watch for Sadism: it buys Mundo enough time to outlast Expunge and keep walking at Twitch through the first burst.
How to beat
Keep the duel at max range and sidestep Infected Cleaver before committing, because one cleaver gives Mundo the angle to keep chasing. Do not dump Expunge into the start of Sadism unless it will force him out; keep restacking and use the execute after his healing has been cut or the ultimate is ending. Venom Cask should be saved to create distance when he starts running you down.
Later Mundo becomes a much stronger side-lane sponge once finished, and Twitch needs anti-heal or percent-health damage to make the duel honest. In teamfights, ignore him when possible and use Spray and Pray through him onto carries unless he is already low and heal-cut.
- Executioner's Calling is the specific purchase that changes Sadism trades.
- Madred's Bloodrazor matters more than raw burst once Mundo has health items.
- Do not stand still to finish him during Sadism; make him spend the duration walking.

EvelynnUnfavoured
Evelynn's camouflage and burst let her choose the first contact, and Twitch usually dies if Ravage and Agony's Embrace land before he has space to stack venom.
Watch for Agony's Embrace: the area damage and slow trap Twitch in Evelynn's melee burst window.
How to beat
Assume Evelynn can be nearby whenever you lack vision and avoid opening Ambush into unwarded paths where she can counter-engage. If she appears first, immediately kite out of Agony's Embrace and use Venom Cask to stop her from sticking after Ravage. Twitch wins only when he detects her approach or starts the fight from stealth with enough distance to kill before she reaches melee.
Later Evelynn is stronger in side-lane picks and fog fights, while Twitch is stronger in front-to-back teamfights if she is revealed or forced onto another target. Group around vision, enter fights late, and avoid using Ambush as your only defensive tool when Evelynn has not shown.
- This matchup is often decided before combat by who finds whom first.
- Venom Cask after Evelynn's ultimate slow helps break her chase chain.
- Guardian Angel is valuable because Evelynn commits deep and can be punished after the revive.

EzrealEven
Ezreal can kite and poke with Mystic Shot and Arcane Shift, but Twitch wins if Ambush lets him start close enough that Ezreal's blink does not end Spray and Pray.
Watch for Arcane Shift: it breaks Twitch's opening range and can dodge the core of Spray and Pray.
How to beat
Do not reveal at the edge of your normal range unless Arcane Shift is down; Ezreal will blink out and poke you afterward. Use Ambush to start from an angle that forces Arcane Shift toward a wall or back through your Spray and Pray line. Dodge Mystic Shot between autos, because repeated hits shorten his escape cooldowns.
Later Side lane remains skill-based, with Ezreal safer in poke patterns and Twitch deadlier from fog. In teamfights, Twitch's late Spray and Pray can outscale Ezreal's single-target skirmishing, but only if he avoids taking poke before revealing.
- Minions blocking Mystic Shot also slow Ezreal's cooldown cycling.
- If Arcane Shift is used aggressively, Twitch should immediately all-in rather than trade.
- Spray and Pray can still tag Ezreal after Arcane Shift if you pre-aim the escape path.

FiddlesticksUnfavoured
Fiddlesticks' point-and-click fear and Drain punish Twitch's close reveal, while Crowstorm makes any brush or fog approach dangerous.
Watch for Terrify: it removes Twitch's ability to kite and gives Fiddlesticks time to channel Drain or keep him inside Crowstorm.
How to beat
Do not enter from the obvious fog angle where Crowstorm can already be channeling. Force or wait out Terrify before committing, then interrupt the Drain plan by kiting out of tether range and using Expunge after stacks are built. If Terrify is up, you need enough distance that the fear does not walk you deeper into Crowstorm.
Later Fiddlesticks is not a side-lane duelist by preference, but he can still beat Twitch if he starts with fear from fog. In teamfights, hold Ambush until Crowstorm or Terrify is committed, then reveal outside the ultimate radius and fire through the clustered fight.
- Dark Wind silence can delay Expunge, so do not wait until the last possible tick.
- QSS is especially valuable because Terrify is point-and-click.
- If Fiddlesticks starts Drain after fear, step out before stacking more autos.

GangplankEven
Gangplank's Parrrley burst and Remove Scurvy sustain make short trades awkward, but Twitch wins extended fights if he avoids Cannon Barrage and keeps him at range.
Watch for Cannon Barrage: the slow and random damage break Twitch's chase and can trap him while Gangplank turns with Parrrley.
How to beat
Open from Ambush outside immediate Parrrley range if possible, then use Venom Cask after Remove Scurvy or when he starts to run. Do not chase through the center of Cannon Barrage; step out, keep firing with Spray and Pray if lined up, and re-engage after the slow field ends. Expunge after he has committed to the fight, because Remove Scurvy can erase crowd control but not your poison stacks.
Later Gangplank scales into a dangerous side-lane crit threat, so Twitch needs the opener and clean spacing to win. In teamfights, Cannon Barrage can disrupt Twitch's reveal zone, but Twitch has the stronger sustained backline damage if he waits for the area slow to be placed.
- Remove Scurvy can clear Venom Cask's slow, so do not rely on it as your only spacing tool.
- Parrrley trades are strongest before Twitch has enough time to stack Deadly Venom.
- If Cannon Barrage lands behind you, kite sideways out of it instead of straight through the slow.

GarenFavoured
Twitch wins if he keeps Garen at arm's length, because Garen has no true gap closer once Decisive Strike is kited out.
Watch for Decisive Strike breaks Venom Cask's slow and lets Garen reach silence range, which can stop Expunge before you cash out stacks.
How to beat
Hold maximum auto range and do not throw Venom Cask until Decisive Strike is already used or about to expire. If he commits with Q, walk away during the burst of speed, then turn with W, autos, Spray and Pray, and Expunge once he cannot cleanse the slow. Never stand in Judgment range just to finish one more attack.
Later Twitch still wins the side-lane duel if he sees Garen coming and starts from range, but Garen becomes too durable to burst through during Courage windows. In teamfights, ignore him unless he runs through the front line; use Spray and Pray past him into carries while staying outside Demacian Justice execute range.
- Tag him often enough to stop Perseverance before a duel starts.
- Venom Cask before Decisive Strike is mostly wasted because Q removes the slow.
- Ambush is best used to choose the starting distance, not to stand still and trade.
- Expunge before Demacian Justice range if you are both low.

GragasUnfavoured
Gragas can force the fight with Body Slam, reduce Twitch's DPS with Barrel Roll, and break Spray and Pray spacing with Explosive Cask.
Watch for Body Slam closes the gap and slows Twitch, setting up Barrel Roll and Explosive Cask before Twitch can finish stacking poison.
How to beat
Stay outside Body Slam range and make him spend it on minions or miss into open space before you commit. When Body Slam is down, Ambush forward, keep sidestepping Barrel Roll, and use Spray and Pray from a line where Explosive Cask cannot knock you into him. If he lands Body Slam first, disengage instead of trying to win through the attack-speed slow.
Later Finished Gragas remains dangerous in side lanes because one Body Slam plus Explosive Cask can deny Twitch's range advantage. Twitch is stronger in a set teamfight if he waits for Gragas to use Cask or Body Slam on someone else, then opens from the flank.
- Do not open Spray and Pray while standing near terrain; Cask can throw you into Body Slam range.
- Barrel Roll's attack-speed slow is a real duel loss condition, not just poke.
- Ambush after Body Slam is used gives you the cleanest damage window.
- If he drinks with Drunken Rage in vision, punish before his full rotation is ready again.

HeimerdingerEven
Twitch can assassinate Heimerdinger in open ground, but turret setup and Concussion Grenade punish any direct engage.
Watch for CH-1 Concussion Grenade stuns on the center hit and blinds around it, denying Twitch's autos during the kill window.
How to beat
Do not duel him inside multiple H-28G Evolution Turrets unless he is already low. Clear or sidestep away from the turret nest, wait for Grenade to miss, then Ambush in from an angle where Hextech Micro-Rockets have fewer nearby targets to choose from. Commit with Spray and Pray only after the blind threat is gone.
Later In a side lane, Heimerdinger controls space if he has time to set turrets, while Twitch wins sudden fights in river or jungle. In teamfights, Twitch should not burn cooldowns on turrets; flank Heimer after Grenade is down or shoot through the formation with Spray and Pray.
- Turrets reveal your bad engage path by forcing you to walk through predictable space.
- A direct Grenade hit usually flips the duel immediately.
- Micro-Rockets choose close targets, so fighting beside minions can change who eats the damage.
- Open from behind or the side so Spray and Pray hits Heimer without standing in turret focus too long.

JannaFavoured
Janna can disengage Twitch, but in a forced equal 1v1 she lacks the damage to kill him if he saves cooldowns for her peel.
Watch for Monsoon knocks Twitch away and resets the distance, wasting Ambush and Spray and Pray uptime.
How to beat
Start with Ambush close enough that she must react, but do not instantly spend Spray and Pray into Monsoon. Bait Howling Gale or Monsoon with a few autos and Venom Cask, then re-enter with Q movement or simply chase once her peel is gone. Expunge after Eye Of The Storm absorbs some autos, not before stacks are built.
Later Janna should not be taking side-lane duels; Twitch wins those if he can catch her alone. In teamfights, she is one of the best answers to Twitch's flank, so wait for Monsoon or Howling Gale before committing Spray and Pray.
- Do not count Eye Of The Storm damage as permanent progress; build poison through it.
- Monsoon can push you out of Expunge range if you delay too long.
- Howling Gale is easiest to dodge when you approach diagonally from Ambush.
- If she uses Zephyr aggressively, she gives up part of her escape pattern.

Jarvan IVUnfavoured
Jarvan's flag combo and Cataclysm force Twitch into melee, where Twitch's range advantage disappears.
Watch for Cataclysm traps Twitch in Jarvan's arena and keeps him close enough for Dragon Strike, Martial Cadence, and Golden Aegis.
How to beat
Stand far enough that Demacian Standard plus Dragon Strike cannot reach without Jarvan showing the flag first. If he misses the knockup, Venom Cask his retreat and kite with Spray and Pray before Cataclysm is available to finish the engage. Save Flash or any wall escape for Cataclysm rather than using it on the first slow.
Later Jarvan remains favored in side-lane catches because Cataclysm gives him a guaranteed commitment tool. Twitch is more valuable in teamfights if he waits for Jarvan to ult someone else, then fires Spray and Pray through the trapped cluster from outside the arena.
- Do not open from a straight line where flag combo can hit you during Spray and Pray.
- Golden Aegis buys him time for a second passive hit, so kite instead of face-trading.
- Cataclysm terrain can ruin your firing angle even if you survive the burst.
- Ambush is strongest after Jarvan has used Demacian Standard for vision or engage elsewhere.

JaxUnfavoured
Jax dodges Twitch's autos during Counter Strike and then jumps onto him with enough sustained damage to win the close-range fight.
Watch for Counter Strike dodges Twitch's basic attacks, denying poison stacks and threatening a stun if Twitch stays near him.
How to beat
The duel is about Counter Strike: back away the moment it starts and do not waste Spray and Pray into the dodge window. Once Counter Strike ends or misses the stun, Venom Cask, kite at max range, and Expunge before Leap Strike comes back. If he still has Leap Strike when you reveal from Ambush, assume he can force melee and do not commit alone.
Later Jax outscales Twitch in isolated side-lane duels once he is tanky enough to survive the first Expunge. Twitch contributes more in teamfights by staying hidden until Counter Strike is used on the front line, then attacking carries from outside Jax's jump range.
- Spray and Pray does not matter if Counter Strike is active; wait it out.
- Venom Cask after Leap Strike makes his second stick much harder.
- If Jax starts Counter Strike before jumping, kite straight away instead of weaving autos.
- Do not chase into fog when Leap Strike can use wards or allies to reset spacing.

KarthusEven
Twitch can burst Karthus before sustained Defile damage wins, but Wall of Pain and Death Defied make sloppy commits costly.
Watch for Wall of Pain slows Twitch and lowers his resistance, making it much harder to dodge Lay Waste or escape Defile.
How to beat
Approach from Ambush at an angle, not through Wall of Pain, and keep moving between autos so Lay Waste does not land isolated hits. Commit hard once Wall is down: Spray and Pray, stack fast, Expunge, then immediately leave Defile range. Remember that killing him does not end the trade because Death Defied can still cast Lay Waste and Requiem.
Later Twitch wins side-lane catches if he can kill Karthus quickly and exit the passive zone, but Karthus can trade kills with Requiem when Twitch is low. In teamfights, Twitch must track Wall of Pain before revealing, because being slowed in the middle of Defile ruins the flank.
- Do not stand still during Spray and Pray; Lay Waste punishes fixed rhythm autos.
- Expunge before moving out if you have lethal, then keep walking through Death Defied.
- Banshee's Veil can block the Wall or a key Lay Waste setup, but not the whole fight.
- If Requiem starts after you disengage low, have enough health or a spell shield plan.

KassadinUnfavoured
Kassadin's silence and Riftwalk mobility let him interrupt Twitch's damage window and stay on top of him.
Watch for Null Sphere silences Twitch, delaying Expunge and preventing him from answering the first Riftwalk burst cleanly.
How to beat
Harass before level-six style mobility matters, but in the actual duel respect Riftwalk range and do not reveal close. Try to bait Null Sphere with a short trade, back out, then re-open while it is down and force him to use Riftwalk defensively. If he Riftwalks onto you with silence ready, Venom Cask under yourself and kite until you can Expunge.
Later Kassadin is favored in side lanes because he chooses when to enter and can silence before Twitch unloads. Twitch can still outperform him in teamfights by opening from stealth after Kassadin has spent Riftwalk stacks or silence on another target.
- Expunge before Null Sphere lands if stacks are already lethal.
- Do not chase a low Kassadin through fog; Riftwalk turns the distance instantly.
- Venom Cask on your own feet is better than throwing it behind him after he jumps in.
- Magic shield items matter because his first rotation decides whether you get to play.

KatarinaEven
Twitch can kill Katarina during her approach, but if Shunpo puts her on top of him and Death Lotus channels freely, he loses fast.
Watch for Death Lotus deals heavy close-range damage while Twitch is trying to stand still and auto, forcing him to either leave range or die.
How to beat
Stay outside Shunpo range until she uses it on a minion or commits without a reset target. Once Shunpo is down, slow her with Venom Cask and burst before she can channel Death Lotus at full value. If she ults on top of you, break distance immediately; Twitch has no built-in interrupt, so winning means denying the channel position, not stopping it.
Later In side lanes the matchup is volatile: Twitch wins from stealth with first damage, Katarina wins if she lands directly on him. In teamfights, Twitch should wait for Katarina to show or spend Shunpo, because her reset chain can punish an early reveal.
- Do not reveal next to low minions that give her easy Shunpo angles.
- Venom Cask after Shunpo is much stronger than using it while she can blink through the slow.
- Spray and Pray can outrange Death Lotus if you create space first.
- Expunge early if she is about to Shunpo out of range.

KayleUnfavoured
Kayle matches Twitch's ranged DPS during Righteous Fury and can nullify his Expunge finish with Intervention.
Watch for Intervention makes Kayle immune during Twitch's burst window, wasting poison stacks, Expunge timing, or Spray and Pray damage.
How to beat
Do not commit all damage while Intervention is available unless you can force it with only autos and Venom Cask. Kite at the edge of Righteous Fury and wait out Reckoning's slow before turning. After Intervention ends, immediately re-stack and Expunge before her heal and movement speed reset the spacing.
Later Kayle is favored in straight side-lane duels because her invulnerability counters Twitch's assassination pattern. In teamfights, Twitch should shoot through Kayle's team and avoid tunneling the invulnerable target; force Intervention on someone else, then clean up.
- If Expunge is cast into Intervention, the duel is usually lost.
- Reckoning marks the moment to kite back, not to trade harder.
- Ambush can force Kayle to ult defensively before she has stacked much damage.
- Do not chase through Divine Blessing speed unless Venom Cask is ready.

KennenUnfavoured
Kennen has equal basic range, faster engage, and a stun chain that can lock Twitch inside Slicing Maelstrom.
Watch for Slicing Maelstrom applies Mark of the Storm repeatedly around Kennen, setting up a stun while Twitch is trapped in his kill zone.
How to beat
Treat Lightning Rush as his commit signal and do not reveal within its reach unless Slicing Maelstrom is down. Poke from max range, sidestep Thundering Shuriken, and only open with Spray and Pray after he has used Lightning Rush forward or failed a mark setup. If he ults, leave immediately instead of trying to finish through the stun.
Later Kennen remains dangerous in side lanes because one ult engage can remove Twitch's ability to kite. In teamfights, Twitch must wait for Kennen's flank or Flash ult to show, then use Ambush positioning to attack from outside the storm radius.
- Equal 550 range means spacing alone does not beat him; cooldown tracking does.
- Do not keep autoing at two Marks of the Storm unless you are finishing with Expunge.
- Lightning Rush can both engage and dodge your firing line, so punish it only after it ends.
- Mercury's Treads are especially valuable because the stun decides the duel.

Kog'MawEven
Twitch has the stealth opener and burst, while Kog'Maw has superior extended range and percent-health damage during Bio-Arcane Barrage.
Watch for Bio-Arcane Barrage outranges Twitch and turns the fight into a long DPS race that Kog'Maw is happy to take.
How to beat
Do not walk at Kog'Maw while Bio-Arcane Barrage is already active; wait for it to be used on the wave or expire. Ambush into a close enough angle that Spray and Pray starts the fight on your terms, then commit quickly with Venom Cask and Expunge before his range advantage matters. After killing him, keep moving away from Icathian Surprise instead of greeding one more wave or objective hit.
Later Kog'Maw wins front-to-back range checks if protected, but Twitch is better at starting the duel from fog and deleting him before he free-fires. In teamfights, Twitch should flank or arrive late rather than trade autos from the front into Bio-Arcane Barrage.
- Spray and Pray is your answer to his range, but only for a short window.
- Void Ooze on your reveal path makes the duel much worse; approach from the side.
- Living Artillery reveal can ruin Ambush if you path predictably while low.
- Run immediately after lethal so Icathian Surprise does not trade the kill.

Lee SinUnfavoured
Lee Sin can reveal Twitch, stick to him through slows, and burst him before poison damage finishes the duel.
Watch for Tempest reveals Twitch and lets Lee Sin follow with Cripple, removing the safety of Ambush and cutting off the kite.
How to beat
Never start the duel inside Tempest range; make Lee Sin land Sonic Wave first if he wants access. If Sonic Wave misses, you have the window to Ambush forward, Venom Cask, and kite with Spray and Pray before Safeguard gives him a new angle. Save your movement for after Dragon's Rage, because the kick can throw you into his follow-up or away from your firing line.
Later Lee Sin is still favored in side-lane skirmishes where he can use wards, minions, or jungle camps to bridge distance. Twitch is stronger in full teamfights if Lee has already used Sonic Wave or Dragon's Rage and cannot instantly reveal or displace him.
- Tempest is the anti-stealth button; do not vanish beside him and expect safety.
- If Sonic Wave misses, punish immediately before it is available again.
- Dragon's Rage can cancel your clean Spray and Pray angle by kicking you out of position.
- A ward item can matter in this matchup because Lee's fog angles decide the fight.

LeonaEven
Leona has enough crowd control to kill Twitch if she lands Zenith Blade, but she lacks reliable damage if Twitch keeps her out.
Watch for Zenith Blade pulls Leona to Twitch and starts the stun chain that lets Shield of Daybreak and Solar Flare lock him down.
How to beat
Hold max range and make Zenith Blade miss before you commit; do not reveal in a straight line where she can tag you immediately. Once E is down, kite backward with Venom Cask and stack poison while Eclipse times out. If Solar Flare is still ready, keep moving during Spray and Pray so she cannot center the stun.
Later Twitch wins isolated side-lane duels when Leona misses engage, but he can still die if she catches him long enough near allied damage. In teamfights, she exists to stop your reveal, so wait for Zenith Blade or Solar Flare to be used before stepping into the fight.
- Eclipse makes early autos inefficient; keep spacing until the resist window fades.
- Zenith Blade is easier to dodge when you approach from fog at an angle, not straight down lane.
- Mercury's Treads reduce the stun chain enough to finish your Expunge window.
- Do not waste Q by going invisible after she has already connected Zenith Blade.

LuluUnfavoured
Lulu's polymorph, shield, slow, and Wild Growth all attack Twitch's exact need for one clean burst window.
Watch for Whimsy polymorphs Twitch, stopping attacks and Expunge during the moment he needs to finish the kill.
How to beat
Bait Whimsy with a short Ambush reveal or by threatening autos, then back out before committing Spray and Pray. Once Whimsy is down, Venom Cask her escape path and burst through Help, Pix! before Wild Growth can fully reset the duel. If Wild Growth is available, expect the knockup and bonus health to deny a close-range assassination unless she is already chunked.
Later Lulu is not a side-lane duelist by role, but her kit is excellent at surviving Twitch alone and buying time. In teamfights, she is one of the highest-priority supports to track; Twitch should wait out Whimsy or attack from an angle where Lulu must choose between saving herself and saving a carry.
- Do not Expunge while polymorph is still available unless the damage is already lethal.
- Glitterlance after your reveal makes chasing almost impossible without Ambush speed.
- Wild Growth's knockup punishes standing too close for the opener.
- Her shield delays poison lethal, so count one more auto than usual.

LuxEven
Twitch wins if he dodges Light Binding and starts from stealth, but Lux can burst him from range if the snare lands.
Watch for Light Binding roots Twitch long enough for Lucent Singularity and Finales Funkeln to land before he can finish stacking poison.
How to beat
Approach from Ambush on a diagonal and make Light Binding miss before committing. Once Q is down, close to auto range, use Venom Cask to keep her from walking out, and Expunge before Prismatic Barrier's return shield buys too much time. Do not stand in Lucent Singularity's slow field while channeling your own damage pattern.
Later Side-lane duels favor whoever lands first: Twitch from stealth, Lux from fog with binding. In teamfights, Twitch should not reveal into Lux's held Q; wait for it to catch someone else or attack from a flank where Spray and Pray outranges her immediate peel.
- Minions can block Light Binding's first hit, but it can still bind a second target behind them.
- Lucent Singularity slows your chase even before it detonates, so step out before trading.
- Banshee's Veil can turn the matchup by blocking the first binding or laser setup.
- If Lux throws Prismatic Barrier forward, burst after the first shield before the return pass.

MalphiteUnfavoured
Malphite wins if he reaches you because Unstoppable Force into Ground Slam removes Twitch's spacing and cuts the attack speed he needs to finish the duel.
Watch for Ground Slam reduces your Attack Speed after Malphite commits, turning Spray and Pray into much less damage during the only window that matters.
How to beat
Stay outside Seismic Shard range until Granite Shield is down, then kite backward with Ambush movement speed rather than opening point blank. Do not commit Spray and Pray while Unstoppable Force is available unless you are far enough that he must ult defensively or miss the knockup. If he spends R and E without killing you, re-open with Venom Cask and finish with Expunge after full stacks.
Later Finished Malphite usually owns the side-lane duel because armor, engage, and attack-speed reduction all punish Twitch's damage pattern. In teamfights Twitch is still more valuable if Malphite's R is tracked; stand behind spread teammates and enter after the knockup is used.
- Break Granite Shield with one attack or Venom Cask before committing real cooldowns.
- Spray and Pray's long line can hit him while you kite out of Ground Slam range.
- If Malphite walks at you without R, save Ambush until after Seismic Shard steals speed.
- Do not auto into his armor stack expecting Expunge alone to finish him.

MalzaharUnfavoured
Malzahar's point-and-click suppression denies Twitch's stealth opener and lets his damage-over-time kill through your low defensive stats.
Watch for Nether Grasp suppresses you in place, stopping autos, Ambush repositioning, and Expunge timing while Malzahar's damage runs.
How to beat
Do not start the duel inside Nether Grasp range unless Quicksilver Sash is ready. Open from Ambush at max auto range, sidestep Call of the Void, and force him to either ult early into your cleanse or die with venom stacks building. After QSS removes Nether Grasp, immediately move out of Null Zone before continuing the trade.
Later With QSS or Mercurial, Twitch can threaten Malzahar in side lane if he gets the first shot; without it, Malzahar remains favored. In teamfights, Twitch should wait for Nether Grasp to be used or hold cleanse specifically for it before revealing.
- Quicksilver Sash is the matchup; do not rely on damage to outplay suppression.
- Voidlings can keep pressure on you after Ambush ends, so do not fight next to a wave for free bounces and body-blocking.
- Expunge before Malefic Visions and Null Zone finish you if you cannot keep autoing.
- Silence from Call of the Void can stop the QSS-to-Expunge response if you walk predictably.

Master YiEven
Twitch can kill Master Yi before he sticks, but Highlander ignores Venom Cask's slow and Alpha Strike can dodge key damage windows.
Watch for Highlander makes Master Yi immune to slows and gives him the speed to stay on you through Venom Cask kiting.
How to beat
Hold max range and do not throw Venom Cask as your first peel if Highlander is available, because the slow will not matter. Let him Alpha Strike first when possible, then Ambush or kite away from where he reappears and unload Spray and Pray while he has no untargetable dodge. Save Expunge for after Meditate is interrupted by his own need to move or after you have enough stacks to punch through it.
Later In a pure side lane, the fight becomes opener-dependent: Twitch wins from stealth with space, Yi wins if he starts in melee. In teamfights, Twitch should not reveal until Alpha Strike and Highlander are committed elsewhere or Yi will reset through him.
- Do not count on Venom Cask during Highlander; use it after the ultimate ends or to stack venom only.
- Alpha Strike can make Spray and Pray bolts miss during the first burst window.
- If Yi uses Meditate at high venom stacks, wait a beat and Expunge as the channel ends or when he is forced to cancel.
- Ambush before he reaches melee, not after Double Strike starts landing.

Miss FortuneEven
Both marksmen have similar range, so Twitch wins extended stealth-open trades while Miss Fortune wins short trades and channel angles with Bullet Time.
Watch for Bullet Time punishes a straight-line Spray and Pray duel by forcing Twitch to either leave the cone or lose the damage race.
How to beat
Open from Ambush from the side rather than directly in front of her, so Bullet Time cannot immediately cover your retreat path. Avoid standing behind minions where Double Up gets a clean bounce, then trade long enough to stack Deadly Venom before Expunge. If she channels Bullet Time, sidestep out of the cone first and resume firing after the channel is broken or wasted.
Later Twitch generally scales better in teamfights because Ambush plus Spray and Pray can hit entire backlines, but Miss Fortune's teamfight is faster if she gets a protected Bullet Time. In side lane, the stealth opener decides most equal-item duels.
- Attack her once to remove Strut before trying to chase through lane.
- Do not reveal directly in Bullet Time's cone angle.
- Make It Rain can expose your path by slowing the area you need to cross.
- Your Expunge finish is stronger after a long trade; her Double Up favors short trades.

MorganaEven
Twitch can outrange and out-DPS Morgana if Dark Binding misses, but one bind lets her force Soul Shackles and Tormented Soil damage.
Watch for Dark Binding roots you long enough for Morgana to place Tormented Soil and walk into Soul Shackles range.
How to beat
Fight at max auto range and move laterally before revealing, because the duel is mostly decided by whether Dark Binding lands. Black Shield does not stop your basic attacks, but it can absorb Expunge's magic damage, so either break it first or delay E until it fades. If Soul Shackles attaches, use Ambush movement or a cleanse item to leave before the stun echo.
Later Morgana is less likely to duel you late and more likely to decide teamfights by binding or shielding your target. Twitch wins damage if he stays unbound, but must enter after Dark Binding or Soul Shackles is committed.
- Black Shield can deny the Expunge pop even while your autos still hurt.
- Do not chase through Tormented Soil while rooted; that is her full damage pattern.
- Soul Shackles is only lethal if you stay close for the second hit.
- Ambush angles make Dark Binding much harder than a front-to-back lane duel.

NasusUnfavoured
Nasus turns Twitch's ranged DPS off with Wither and then wins the melee stat check with lifesteal, armor reduction, and Fury of the Sands.
Watch for Wither slows both Movement Speed and Attack Speed over time, taking away Twitch's kite and his damage output at once.
How to beat
Never let the duel start with Nasus inside Wither range unless you have Quicksilver Sash ready. Poke from max range, use Ambush to reset distance after Wither or Spirit Fire, and only commit Spray and Pray when Wither is down or cleansed. If he ults, kite out the duration rather than trying to burn him through Fury of the Sands.
Later Nasus becomes one of the worst side-lane duels for Twitch once Wither is maxed and his Q is stacked. In teamfights, Twitch should force Nasus to walk through frontline and save QSS for Wither rather than using it on incidental slows.
- QSS removes Wither and is often the difference between killing him and standing still.
- Do not fight inside Spirit Fire; the armor reduction makes his follow-up much worse.
- Fury of the Sands punishes close-range Spray and Pray, so keep stepping back while firing.
- If Wither is down, Nasus is kiteable until he reaches melee.

NidaleeEven
Twitch wins sustained auto trades from stealth, but Nidalee can chunk him before the fight or execute him in cougar form after a trap or spear lands.
Watch for Javelin Toss heavily lowers your health before the duel starts, making Nidalee's cougar all-in faster than your venom stack ramp.
How to beat
Do not take the duel after being hit by a long-range Javelin Toss; reset with Ambush and force her to guess your angle. Watch for Bushwhack because the reveal and resistance shred make her cougar commit much stronger. If she uses Primal Surge defensively, keep firing through the heal and Expunge after she has spent Pounce to enter or escape.
Later Late side-lane duels remain vision and brush dependent: Nidalee wins if she lands poke first, Twitch wins if he opens clean from stealth. In teamfights, Twitch usually contributes more reliable damage, while Nidalee tries to soften him before he can reveal.
- Avoid brush lines where Prowl lets her control spacing.
- A trap hit reveals you and makes Ambush much less useful.
- Spray and Pray can punish her if she retreats in a straight line after cougar form.
- Do not Expunge into a fresh Primal Surge unless it will still kill.

Nunu & WillumpEven
Nunu is hard to chase or burst because Ice Blast cripples Twitch's movement and attack speed, but he lacks reliable kill pressure if Twitch keeps distance from Absolute Zero.
Watch for Ice Blast slows both your Movement Speed and Attack Speed, making it hard to kite or stack Deadly Venom quickly.
How to beat
Hold max range and treat Ice Blast as the real duel cooldown; if it lands early, back away instead of forcing autos through the debuff. Interrupt Absolute Zero by leaving the channel radius rather than trying to win inside it. Once Ice Blast is down, use Ambush speed and Venom Cask to maintain distance while stacking for Expunge.
Later Nunu rarely wants a true side-lane duel with Twitch, but he can stall and disengage for a long time. In teamfights, Twitch should avoid clumping near Absolute Zero and wait until Nunu has used Ice Blast on someone else before committing.
- Venom Cask's slow matters after Ice Blast is down, not while you are already crippled.
- Do not stand in Absolute Zero just to finish one more auto.
- Consume does not help him in an isolated champion-only duel unless minions or monsters are nearby.
- Blood Boil can let him keep pace longer than his melee tag suggests.

OlafUnfavoured
Olaf can ignore Twitch's slow with Ragnarok, chain Undertow to stay in range, and finish with true damage once he reaches melee.
Watch for Ragnarok makes Olaf immune to disables and gives him defenses, removing Venom Cask as a peel tool during his all-in.
How to beat
Fight only with a long lane behind you and do not commit after the first Undertow hits; he can pick up axes and repeat the slow. Save Ambush movement for after Ragnarok starts so you can create raw distance while Venom Cask is ineffective. When Ragnarok ends or he misses an axe, turn with Spray and Pray and Expunge before his low-health attack speed and lifesteal swing the fight.
Later Olaf is favored in side lane if he can run you down, especially with open space and axe resets. In teamfights, Twitch should position so Olaf must choose between diving through allies or spending Ragnarok before Twitch reveals.
- Venom Cask does not peel Ragnarok, so do not rely on it as your panic button.
- Sidestepping Undertow matters more than squeezing in one extra auto.
- Reckless Swing means low-health Olaf is still lethal even if he looks ready to die.
- Spray and Pray is best after he misses an axe or his ultimate timer is nearly over.

PantheonUnfavoured
Pantheon's targeted stun and front-loaded burst beat Twitch before he can build enough venom stacks, especially when Aegis Protection blocks a key attack.
Watch for Aegis of Zeonia stuns you on demand, letting Pantheon land Heartseeker Strike before you can kite out.
How to beat
Keep him at the edge of auto range and do not open while his passive shield is ready; remove Aegis Protection with a light hit first if possible. If he uses Aegis of Zeonia and Heartseeker Strike without killing you, Ambush away from melee and turn with Spray and Pray as his burst falls off. Expunge after he has no block available, because one denied auto can delay your lethal stack count.
Later Pantheon still threatens Twitch in side lane through point-and-click engage, but his damage falls off if he cannot kill during the stun. In teamfights, Twitch should stay unseen until Pantheon commits W or Grand Skyfall elsewhere.
- Aegis Protection can block the first auto from your stealth opener.
- Do not duel him in Spear Shot poke range before you are ready to all-in.
- Heartseeker Strike is strongest if you panic and stand in front of him after the stun.
- Armor buys time, but spacing his W range is the real answer.

RammusUnfavoured
Rammus is built to punish Twitch: Powerball reaches him, Puncturing Taunt forces attacks into Defensive Ball Curl, and armor reflection wins the trade.
Watch for Puncturing Taunt forces you to attack Rammus during Defensive Ball Curl, turning your own basic attacks against you.
How to beat
Do not reveal unless Powerball is down or you have enough distance to sidestep it. If he curls before taunting, stop committing and wait out Defensive Ball Curl rather than feeding reflected damage. Only fight after Taunt is unavailable, then kite with Ambush and Spray and Pray from maximum range.
Later Rammus dominates the side-lane duel unless Twitch has cleanse ready and a large damage lead. In teamfights, Twitch must track Powerball and Taunt before revealing, because Rammus can remove him from the fight faster than most tanks.
- QSS can remove Taunt, but it does not stop Defensive Ball Curl damage if you keep attacking.
- Do not Spray and Pray into him while taunted unless it will immediately win the fight.
- Powerball is easier to dodge from stealth angles than from a straight lane retreat.
- His armor makes Expunge timing less important than not attacking into Curl.

RyzeUnfavoured
Ryze's instant root and spell rotation beat Twitch's ramping damage if he gets into range, and Desperate Power gives him sustain and movement to stay there.
Watch for Rune Prison roots Twitch in place, guaranteeing Ryze's follow-up spells and preventing kiting during Spray and Pray.
How to beat
Play just outside Rune Prison range until Ryze uses a spell on the wave or wastes root. Open from Ambush at max range, then kite backward so he has to spend Desperate Power movement just to reach you. If Rune Prison lands, cleanse it immediately or Expunge before his next rotation finishes you.
Later Ryze is favored in close side-lane duels because his cooldown loop and spell vamp outlast Twitch's first burst. Twitch is stronger in teamfights only when he can fire from beyond Ryze's target range and avoid being the first Rune Prison target.
- Do not reveal inside Rune Prison range unless QSS is ready.
- Desperate Power's move speed can close the gap even after a good opener.
- Spell Flux lowering MR makes his next spells and your magic damage race more dangerous for both sides.
- Spray and Pray's range advantage is your main way to damage him safely.

ShacoEven
The duel is opener-dependent: Twitch wins if he reveals Shaco first and keeps distance, while Shaco wins if Deceive puts him behind Twitch into boxes and clone confusion.
Watch for Deceive lets Shaco appear behind you for Backstab damage and deny the spacing Twitch needs to ramp venom stacks.
How to beat
Avoid fighting near likely Jack In The Box nests; fear is what lets Shaco's melee damage stick. If Shaco uses Deceive to enter, move immediately rather than standing to identify the clone, then Venom Cask the exit path and fire as he retreats. Save Expunge until you are sure stacks are on the real Shaco or the clone is no longer baiting your finish.
Later Side-lane duels remain volatile because both champions have stealth and burst, but Twitch's sustained damage wins if he survives the first Deceive. In teamfights, Shaco is more about flank disruption while Twitch has the stronger front-to-back damage if boxes and clone are not on him.
- Do not chase through boxes after a low-health Shaco; he wants you feared before Expunge.
- Hallucinate can waste autos and make you Expunge the wrong target.
- If Deceive is down, Shaco has a much harder time forcing melee range.
- Stand so Backstab is harder to maintain after his first hit.

ShenEven
Twitch can kite Shen after Shadow Dash misses, but if Shen taunts him he absorbs the opener with Feint and wins the short control window.
Watch for Shadow Dash taunts Twitch, forcing him to walk and attack under Shen's control instead of spacing the duel.
How to beat
Hold enough distance that Shadow Dash has to be aimed, then sidestep before committing Spray and Pray. Poke off Feint, wait for the shield to fall, and stack venom while Shen has no dash. If he channels Stand United in a real game context, punish with free autos or Expunge, but the pure duel is mostly about taunt cooldown.
Later Shen usually does not seek isolated kills on Twitch; he controls side lane through durability and map pressure. In teamfights, Twitch should watch for Shadow Dash angles from fog and use his damage to punish Shen after the taunt is spent.
- Do not spend Expunge into Feint unless it kills through the shield.
- Shadow Dash is dodgeable if you reveal from an angle instead of straight ahead.
- Vorpal Blade sustain can drag out low-stack trades, so force real all-ins only after taunt misses.
- Stand United is not a duel spell, but its channel gives you a free damage window if he tries to leave.

SingedEven
Twitch wins if he keeps Singed at range, but Fling into Poison Trail and Mega Adhesive flips the fight as soon as Twitch gets too close.
Watch for Fling throws Twitch behind Singed, forcing him through Poison Trail and breaking his kiting direction.
How to beat
Do not chase Singed in a straight line; make him walk toward you if he wants Fling. Keep max range, use Venom Cask after Mega Adhesive is down, and save Ambush movement to reset distance if he activates Insanity Potion and runs at you. Commit Spray and Pray only when he cannot immediately Fling you into his poison path.
Later Singed is usually safer in side lane because he can disengage, proxy, or force bad chases, but Twitch can kill him in open ground if Fling never connects. In teamfights, Twitch should ignore Singed until he has spent his displacement or is already past the backline.
- Never follow directly inside Poison Trail just to keep venom stacks active.
- Mega Adhesive can make Ambush movement fail as an escape if you saved it too late.
- Insanity Potion makes short damage checks misleading; kite the steroid first.
- Spray and Pray can hit him while you retreat instead of chasing his trail.

SionUnfavoured
Sion's targeted stun and shielded burst force Twitch to stand still long enough for lifesteal-enhanced melee attacks to take over.
Watch for Cryptic Gaze is a point-and-click stun that lets Sion close the gap and detonate or protect Death's Caress during the trade.
How to beat
Stay outside Cryptic Gaze range until you are ready to fully commit, because partial trades favor his shield and sustain. Break or wait out Death's Caress before Expunge, then kite backward with Ambush after the stun is used. If Cannibalism is active and he is already in melee, disengage first; fighting through the lifesteal usually loses.
Later Sion is favored in side lane when he can force stun range, but Twitch can still kill him from stealth if the shield is down and there is room to kite. In teamfights, Twitch should not reveal within Cryptic Gaze range and should wait for Sion's first target to be someone else.
- Death's Caress can absorb the damage you need for a lethal Expunge.
- Cryptic Gaze is targeted, so the outplay is staying out of range, not dodging it.
- Cannibalism punishes low-stack trades because he heals while you ramp.
- His passive damage reduction makes many small autos less reliable than a clean full-stack finish.

SivirEven
Twitch has the longer threat range and better all-in if he gets poison stacked, but Sivir can erase one key spell and punish him hard with Boomerang Blade during straight trades.
Watch for Spell Shield blocks Venom Cask or Expunge and can deny Twitch's burst window.
How to beat
Do not open with Expunge while Spell Shield is ready; tag her with autos first and use Venom Cask to force the shield or catch her after it drops. Hold 550 range, sidestep Boomerang Blade on the return path, then commit with Spray and Pray once she has spent Spell Shield or is already at high poison stacks.
Later In the side lane Twitch can kill Sivir from Ambush if Spell Shield is down, but her waveclear makes clean duels rare. In teamfights Sivir's On The Hunt starts fights faster than Twitch wants, so flank from fog and wait until Spell Shield is forced before Expunge.
- Do not Expunge into a visible Spell Shield unless it secures nothing else matters.
- Boomerang Blade is most dangerous when you chase in a straight line after opening.
- Spray and Pray outranges her 425 auto range, so kite backward instead of standing in Ricochet range.

SkarnerUnfavoured
Twitch wins only if Skarner never reaches him, because Impale turns any close duel into a forced melee fight that Twitch cannot out-stat.
Watch for Impale suppresses Twitch and drags him into Skarner's Crystal Slash range.
How to beat
Keep the fight at maximum auto range and do not reveal from Ambush inside Skarner's flash-or-runup range. Break Crystalline Exoskeleton with autos while backing up, then use Venom Cask after the shield is gone so he cannot simply speed through the slow. Commit only if Impale is down or you have Quicksilver Sash ready.
Later Finished Twitch can shred Skarner in a front-to-back teamfight if protected, but Skarner wins isolated side-lane catches whenever Impale is available. Buy cleanse access and play behind wards instead of trying to duel him in jungle corridors.
- Quicksilver Sash is the matchup-changing item because it removes Impale.
- Do not waste Venom Cask into Crystalline Exoskeleton while he still has the speed boost.
- Ambush is for choosing the fight, not escaping once Skarner is already on top of you.

SonaFavoured
Sona has strong poke and a dangerous ultimate, but she is too fragile to survive Twitch's Ambush opener if Crescendo is missed or unavailable.
Watch for Crescendo stuns Twitch long enough for Sona to unload Power Chord and escape or set up allies.
How to beat
Open from an angle instead of straight down the lane so Crescendo is harder to line up. If she holds Power Chord, respect the damage-reduction version and wait a beat before spending Spray and Pray. Once Crescendo is down, keep autoing through her aura cycling and finish with Expunge.
Later Sona should not meet Twitch alone late; if she does, Twitch kills her quickly unless Crescendo buys time for help. In teamfights she is valuable because Crescendo can stop Twitch's ultimate channel of attacks, so enter after it is used or from outside her immediate cone.
- Track Power Chord count before opening; the damage-reduction chord can ruin your burst math.
- Ambush behind her makes Crescendo easier to dodge than opening from directly in front.
- Do not let her reset the fight with repeated Aria of Perseverance casts; finish once poison stacks are high.

SorakaFavoured
Soraka can delay Twitch with silence and heals, but she lacks the damage or hard control to win a clean duel once Twitch sticks to her.
Watch for Infuse silences Twitch and can delay Venom Cask or Expunge at the exact kill window.
How to beat
Start with autos from Ambush and do not rely on an immediate Expunge if Infuse is ready. Keep moving with her so Starcall cannot stack repeatedly for free, then use Venom Cask after the silence to keep her in range. If Wish and Astral Blessing are both available, hold Expunge until after one heal lands.
Later Soraka almost never wants the side-lane duel; Twitch kills her if he finds her alone, especially with anti-heal. In teamfights her global and single-target healing stretch fights, so apply Grievous Wounds early if your team needs to cut through her sustain.
- Executioner's Calling is specifically valuable because Astral Blessing and Wish can erase your first burst window.
- Do not Expunge before Wish if she is obviously baiting at low health.
- Infuse is annoying, but once it is spent she has no way to stop your autos.

TaricUnfavoured
Taric's armor aura, stun, and heal make him much harder to burst than most supports, and Dazzle lets him force Twitch into a losing close-range trade.
Watch for Dazzle stuns Twitch and gives Taric the time to walk into Shatter and Radiance range.
How to beat
Never open inside short walking distance; start at max range and kite backward immediately. Bait Dazzle with Ambush movement or a short reveal trade, then commit only after it is down. If he still has Imbue and Shatter aura up, expect the duel to take longer than Twitch wants.
Later Taric is not a natural side-lane duelist, but against Twitch he can stall long enough for help if Dazzle lands. In teamfights Twitch should avoid being the first target in Dazzle range and use Spray and Pray to hit past Taric rather than trying to burn him first.
- His Shatter aura directly lowers your physical burst, so do not judge him like a normal support.
- Dazzle is targeted; if you are in range, dodging is no longer the answer.
- Use Spray and Pray angles to damage Taric's backline instead of tunneling on his armor stack.

TeemoUnfavoured
Teemo's Blind denies Twitch's auto-attack damage during the most important seconds of the duel, and his poison keeps ticking while Twitch waits it out.
Watch for Blinding Dart makes Twitch's basic attacks miss and can waste Spray and Pray's kill window.
How to beat
Do not commit Spray and Pray until Blinding Dart is down or you have enough distance to disengage during the blind. Open with Venom Cask and a few autos, back off through the blind duration, then re-enter before Toxic Shot and mushroom damage win the long trade. Avoid obvious brush and choke paths because Noxious Trap can decide the duel before it starts.
Later Teemo remains dangerous in side lanes because shrooms deny Ambush paths and Blind still beats Twitch's carry pattern. In teamfights Twitch is stronger if he enters from swept terrain and waits for Teemo to spend Blind on someone else.
- Mercury's Treads reduce Blind duration and matter more here than raw damage greed.
- Do not press Spray and Pray into Blind unless you are using it only for range while disengaging.
- A mushroom hit before the duel usually turns an even-looking fight into Teemo's fight.

TristanaEven
Twitch can out-damage Tristana if he gets a clean Ambush opener, but Rocket Jump and Buster Shot can reset the spacing and deny his stacked-poison finish.
Watch for Buster Shot knocks Twitch out of auto range and can waste the remaining Spray and Pray duration.
How to beat
Open only when Rocket Jump is down or when you can force her to jump defensively instead of on top of you. Stay just outside her jump landing threat, stack poison with autos, and save Venom Cask for after Rocket Jump if she uses it to disengage. If she still has Buster Shot, expect your first all-in to be interrupted.
Later Tristana's scaling range eventually makes side-lane duels harder for Twitch because she can hit first and disengage. Twitch's late-game teamfight angle is still stronger through piercing Spray and Pray bolts, but he needs to avoid being knocked out before he has fired enough shots.
- Do not chase Rocket Jump in a straight line if Buster Shot is still ready.
- Her passive range scaling changes the matchup later; equal 550 range does not stay equal forever.
- Venom Cask after Rocket Jump is usually better than using it before she moves.

TryndamereUnfavoured
Twitch can kite Tryndamere before contact, but Spinning Slash plus Mocking Shout and Undying Rage make the final seconds favor Tryndamere if he reaches melee range.
Watch for Undying Rage prevents Twitch from finishing him during the poison burst window.
How to beat
Start from Ambush at maximum range and kite backward, saving Venom Cask for after Spinning Slash. Do not Expunge too early; force Undying Rage first, then disengage until it ends and finish with poison or a final Expunge. If Mocking Shout lands while your back is turned, stop trying to race him and create distance.
Later Tryndamere is the better side-lane duelist if he has room to run Twitch down, especially with summoners. Twitch is far better in grouped fights, so avoid isolated long lanes and make Tryndamere spend Undying Rage before your team commits damage.
- Executioner's Calling helps against Bloodlust healing, but it does not solve Undying Rage.
- Venom Cask after Spinning Slash is the key spacing tool.
- Do not count poison lethal while Undying Rage is active; wait out the immunity window.

Twisted FateFavoured
Twisted Fate is fragile and loses the sustained duel if Twitch avoids Gold Card or cleanses it, but one locked stun can let him unload his full card combo.
Watch for Pick A Card Gold Card stuns Twitch and sets up Wild Cards before Twitch can stack poison.
How to beat
Watch the card cycle before revealing; do not walk into a held Gold Card unless you can cleanse it or kill through the stun. Open from Ambush after he throws Wild Cards or locks the wrong card, then stay close enough that he cannot kite with repeated Pick A Card autos. If Destiny is available, remember it can reveal you and ruin the setup.
Later Twitch kills Twisted Fate in a pure side-lane duel, but Destiny means TF often chooses unfair fights instead. In teamfights Twitch should enter after Gold Card is spent or hold Quicksilver Sash for it, then use Spray and Pray to punish TF's short range.
- Destiny reveals Ambush, so do not rely on stealth if his ultimate is active.
- Gold Card is the duel; Blue or Red Card is your opening.
- Quicksilver Sash turns his best peel into a short delay.

VayneEven
This is a volatile marksman duel where Twitch has the stronger opener and range pattern, while Vayne wins if Final Hour and Condemn let her survive the first burst and chase.
Watch for Condemn knocks Twitch away or into terrain, breaking his auto rhythm and creating Vayne's kill window.
How to beat
Do not open next to walls; make Condemn a knockback instead of a stun. Use Ambush to start with the first autos, hold Venom Cask for after Tumble, and keep Spray and Pray angled so she cannot tumble out of your line. If Final Hour is active, track her invisible Tumble timing instead of panic-moving forward.
Later Vayne becomes one of the best side-lane duelists once finished and can beat Twitch if she gets room to chase. Twitch is usually more valuable in teamfights because Spray and Pray pierces through frontlines, so force grouped fights and avoid wall-heavy jungle duels.
- Wall position matters more than health bars; Condemn stun flips the duel.
- Your Ambush opener can beat her before Silver Bolts ramps if you start cleanly.
- When Final Hour is active, wait for the Tumble reveal before spending Expunge if stacks are not lethal.

VeigarEven
Twitch can kill Veigar very quickly from stealth, but Event Horizon into Dark Matter and Primordial Burst can delete him if he is caught before the opener matters.
Watch for Event Horizon stuns Twitch or cages his path, giving Veigar time to land Dark Matter and burst.
How to beat
Approach from Ambush at an angle that does not require walking through Event Horizon's edge. If Veigar drops the cage defensively, either stop outside it and keep firing with Spray and Pray or wait for it to expire before committing. Build enough magic protection that Primordial Burst does not end the fight before Expunge resolves.
Later The side-lane duel is whoever sees whom first: Twitch kills Veigar from fog, Veigar kills Twitch if cage lands. In teamfights Twitch should not be the first champion into Event Horizon; flank after the cage is used or attack from beyond its edge with Spray and Pray.
- Do not chase through Event Horizon's rim; the stun is the setup for his whole kit.
- Hexdrinker can keep you alive long enough for poison and Expunge to finish him.
- Spray and Pray can let you keep damaging him while respecting the cage boundary.

WarwickUnfavoured
Warwick's sustain and Infinite Duress make him favored if he gets in range, while Twitch needs a long, clean kite to win.
Watch for Infinite Duress suppresses Twitch and locks him in place while Warwick heals through the exchange.
How to beat
Keep the duel at 550 range and start backing up before Warwick is close enough to ult. Save Venom Cask for after he commits forward, and do not take short trades that let Hungering Strike undo your poison damage. With Quicksilver Sash, cleanse Infinite Duress immediately and turn with Spray and Pray while he has no gap close left.
Later Warwick wins isolated catches when Infinite Duress is up, but Twitch outscales him in protected teamfights. Late, the answer is vision plus QSS: make Warwick ult someone else, then shred him and the frontline with Spray and Pray.
- Quicksilver Sash is the clean answer to Infinite Duress.
- Executioner's Calling helps reduce his passive and Hungering Strike healing in extended fights.
- Blood Scent can track you when low, so Ambush is not a reliable escape at low health.

WukongUnfavoured
Wukong's dash, armor shred, stealth fakeout, and knockup let him force a close fight where Twitch cannot free-fire.
Watch for Cyclone knocks Twitch up and keeps Wukong on top of him during Twitch's damage window.
How to beat
Do not reveal from Ambush close enough for Nimbus Strike unless you are sure you can kill before Cyclone. After he uses Decoy, stop briefly or reposition instead of wasting Expunge and Spray and Pray into the clone. Save Venom Cask for after Nimbus Strike so you can slow the real Wukong as he tries to stick.
Later Wukong is much better at starting fights and killing Twitch in side-lane brush or jungle paths. Twitch is stronger if he survives the engage, so late-game play is about staying behind peel, waiting out Cyclone, and then firing through the clustered fight.
- Do not Expunge until you know the real Wukong did not Decoy your stacks away.
- Nimbus Strike is the moment to kite, not the moment to stand and race.
- Cyclone interrupts your free-fire time even if you survive the burst.

ZileanEven
Zilean can kite and revive through Twitch's first kill attempt, but he lacks sustained damage if Twitch waits out Chronoshift and keeps him in range.
Watch for Chronoshift denies Twitch's first lethal burst and can reset the duel after Expunge is spent.
How to beat
Do not spend Expunge just to trigger Chronoshift unless you can control the revive location. Open with autos, force Time Warp defensively, and use Venom Cask after his speed or slow is committed. If Chronoshift appears, stop overchasing, reload poison stacks as he revives, and finish after the rune expires or pops.
Later Zilean usually avoids true side-lane duels; Twitch can kill him, but Chronoshift means it takes two clean windows. In teamfights Zilean's revive can blank Twitch's assassination target, so either wait it out or switch targets while Spray and Pray is active.
- Chronoshift punishes early Expunge more than any normal heal would.
- Time Warp can make your Ambush opener fail if you reveal too far away.
- If he bombs himself while reviving, step out before returning to finish.
