Magic penetration marks are best because Q, W, E, and R all deal magic damage except Q's return true-damage half, so penetration improves most of her actual combo. Armor seals cover auto-attack trades and jungle pressure, MR glyphs cover AP mids, and AP quints strengthen early Orb of Deception wave control and kill setups.
This is a standard 21/0/9 AP mid page: offense gives cooldown reduction, AP, magic penetration, and execute damage for Ahri's burst combo. The utility points reach Runic Affinity because Season 3 mid Ahri expected blue buff and valued longer buff duration.
Skill order
ultimate at 6, 11 and 16Essence Theft
- Orb of Deception (Q) takes points at levels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.
- Fox-Fire (W) takes points at levels 4, 8, 10, 12, 13.
- Charm (E) takes points at levels 2, 14, 15, 17, 18.
- Spirit Rush (R) takes points at levels 6, 11, 16.
Max Q first for waveclear, poke, and the reliable two-hit damage pattern, then W for lower cooldown burst once Charm lands. Take E early at level 2 for kill threat and gank setup, but leave its later ranks until Q and W are finished.
Alternative — Max E second instead of W when your team needs longer Charm pick windows more than raw skirmish damage.

Doran's Ring start — Default lane start when you expect normal trading and want AP, health, mana sustain from last-hitting, and two potions.
Flask sustain start — Use into heavy poke or lanes where you expect repeated recalls to be punished and need more total sustain.
Boots mobility start — Use against skillshot-heavy lanes where dodging matters more than Doran's combat stats.

Notes
the author's own wordsI've had a lot of success with a 2nd max charm, increased duration earlier in the game to snowball off of picks. Works best if you can land charm consistently and transition leads into game winning snowballs.

Matchup against
62 champions, one-on-one
AkaliEven
Ahri controls the early space with range and Charm, but Akali can flip the duel once Shadow Dance gives her repeated gap closes through Ahri's dashes.
Watch for Shadow Dance: it lets Akali stick through Spirit Rush charges and punish any missed Charm.
How to beat
Hold 550 range until Akali spends Mark of the Assassin or a Shadow Dance charge, then trade with Orb of Deception and Fox-Fire while backing out. Do not throw Charm into Twilight Shroud unless she is forced to exit; save it for the dash-in or for when she commits to consuming Mark. Commit only after she has fewer dash charges or no shroud to stall your return orb.
Later Akali becomes more dangerous in the side lane because she can chase through multiple Spirit Rush casts if she starts close. In teamfights Ahri is better when she can Charm Akali on entry and burst her before resets; play near vision and peel zones rather than matching her in fog.
- Track Shadow Dance charges before starting a long trade.
- Use Spirit Rush sideways, not straight away, so Charm can hit her follow-up dash path.
- Drop Orb through Twilight Shroud and angle the return through the edge she must leave from.
- If she marks you, deny the proc before taking your own trade.

AlistarFavoured
Alistar is hard to kill during Unbreakable Will, but he lacks the sustained damage and range to beat Ahri alone unless she walks into his combo for free.
Watch for Headbutt plus Pulverize: it removes your spacing and gives him his only clean damage window.
How to beat
Stay outside Headbutt range and chip with Orb of Deception when he walks up. If he uses Unbreakable Will, stop committing damage and kite until it ends. Charm him after Headbutt or when he has no ultimate, not while he can cleanse it immediately.
Later Alistar does not usually side-lane duel Ahri; he wins value by engaging or peeling in teamfights. Ahri should ignore him during Unbreakable Will and look past him for Charm picks on carries once his combo is spent.
- Do not full-combo into Unbreakable Will damage reduction.
- Spirit Rush after Headbutt displacement to avoid being chained into Pulverize follow-up.
- Charm is best used after his ultimate cleanse, not before it.
- If he only walks at you, Orb both ways while retreating.

AmumuFavoured
Ahri outranges and outmaneuvers Amumu in a duel, but getting hit by Bandage Toss can lock her inside Despair and Curse long enough to lose the trade.
Watch for Bandage Toss: it starts his full lockdown and puts you in range of Despair and Curse of the Sad Mummy.
How to beat
Hold max spell range and keep minions or lateral movement between you and Bandage Toss. Poke with Orb of Deception, then save Spirit Rush for after he commits Q or ultimate. If he misses Bandage Toss, that is the window to Charm and finish the trade.
Later Amumu is still not a strong side-lane duelist into Ahri unless he lands the first Q from fog. In teamfights his Curse is much more important than the duel, so Ahri should flank outside its radius and punish him after he engages.
- Never dash directly through him when Curse of the Sad Mummy is available.
- Charm is reliable right after a missed Bandage Toss because he has no gap close.
- Orb return true damage helps cut through tank stats, but do not stand in Despair for it.
- Ward side angles so Bandage Toss does not start from fog.

AniviaEven
Ahri can dodge Anivia's slow skillshots and threaten Charm all-in, but Anivia's range, wall control, and Rebirth make clean kills difficult.
Watch for Flash Frost: if it stuns you, Frostbite and Glacial Storm can force your Spirit Rush defensively.
How to beat
Stand off the minion line so Flash Frost and Frostbite setups are not free, and use Spirit Rush to dodge the detonation rather than only to engage. Bait Flash Frost first, then Charm during its cooldown when Anivia has to rely on wall and storm spacing. If Rebirth is up, plan the kill around enough remaining damage to break the egg, not just her champion health bar.
Later Anivia is stronger at holding waves and controlling teamfight terrain, while Ahri is better at finding flank picks. In side lane Ahri can win if she dodges Flash Frost, but finished Anivia makes it hard to convert kills through Rebirth and waveclear.
- Do not ult into a narrow lane where Crystallize can trap your retreat.
- Charm after Flash Frost passes or detonates, not while she can stun you mid-cast.
- Save one Spirit Rush charge for the egg if you force Rebirth far from her team.
- Avoid fighting inside Glacial Storm; it makes Frostbite trades too efficient.

AnnieUnfavoured
Annie's longer attack range and point-click stun burst make the duel dangerous because Ahri must respect Pyromania before she can ever Charm all-in.
Watch for Pyromania stun: it turns Disintegrate or Summon: Tibbers into guaranteed burst before Ahri can reposition.
How to beat
Track Annie's passive stacks and refuse the duel when her stun is ready. Poke from Orb range and force her to spend stun defensively or on the wave, then look for Charm before she rebuilds stacks. Spirit Rush should dodge Tibbers placement or create distance after the stun window, not start a blind all-in into charged Pyromania.
Later Annie remains more reliable in front-to-back teamfights because Flash-Tibbers style engage can decide the fight instantly. Ahri has better pick range and side mobility, but she should not stand in Annie's direct engage radius without Banshee's or vision control.
- Count Pyromania; the matchup changes completely at four stacks.
- Do not trade auto attacks into her 625 range unless her stun is unavailable.
- Banshee's Veil can block the stun opener and let you play more aggressively.
- Charm her after Tibbers lands if she has no passive stun left.

AsheFavoured
Ahri wins the duel if she dodges Enchanted Crystal Arrow because Ashe has no dash and cannot survive Charm into Spirit Rush burst.
Watch for Enchanted Crystal Arrow: it stuns long enough for Ashe to kite with Frost Shot instead of letting Ahri choose the range.
How to beat
Stand outside Volley angles and keep moving sideways so Arrow is not a straight-line opener. Once Arrow is down or dodged with Spirit Rush, dash into Charm range and burst her before Frost Shot can extend the chase. Do not spend all Spirit Rush charges forward if she still has Flash or a long lane to kite through.
Later Ahri remains favored in isolated side-lane catches, while Ashe is more valuable in grouped fights through Arrow engage and sustained marksman damage. Flank her rather than approaching through her frontline and save one dash to exit after the pick attempt.
- Spirit Rush can dodge Arrow, but only if you are not already slowed by Frost Shot.
- Charm after Volley if she has stopped to cast in a predictable line.
- Do not chase through repeated Frost Shot autos without a dash charge left.
- If Arrow misses, her duel threat drops sharply.

BlitzcrankFavoured
Blitzcrank only threatens Ahri by landing Rocket Grab; if it misses, she can kite him and punish his melee range easily.
Watch for Rocket Grab: it drags you into Power Fist and Static Field, removing the spacing Ahri needs.
How to beat
Keep minions between you and Blitzcrank and hold Spirit Rush until Rocket Grab is thrown. When Q misses, punish with Charm and Orb while he has to walk at you with Overdrive. If Mana Barrier triggers, avoid overcommitting into a shielded target unless your cooldowns are ready to finish.
Later Blitzcrank rarely takes a fair side-lane duel; he matters by catching Ahri before fights. In teamfights, stand behind minions or tanks, then punish him after he misses hook or pulls someone who can survive.
- Do not Charm first if he can hook during your cast animation from fog.
- Spirit Rush diagonally after Rocket Grab starts; straight back can still get clipped.
- Mana Barrier can make low-health all-ins take longer than expected.
- Overdrive without hook is not enough to catch Ahri by itself.

BrandEven
Both mages can kill the other quickly, with Ahri relying on mobility and Charm while Brand punishes any predictable dash with Blaze-enhanced burst.
Watch for Sear: if Brand lands it on a Blazed Ahri, the stun gives him his full combo before she can finish her own.
How to beat
Do not Spirit Rush in a straight line after being hit by Pillar of Flame or Conflagration because Sear will stun you. Bait Pillar of Flame first, then use the delay to step out and answer with Charm while Brand is locked in cast patterns. Commit after Sear is down or when you can dash across its line instead of away from it.
Later Brand is stronger in grouped fights if Pyroclasm can bounce, while Ahri is stronger at isolated picks and cleanup. In side lane the matchup stays skill-based, but Ahri must avoid fighting near minion waves that give Brand bounce and Blaze value.
- Spread from minions before Pyroclasm so bounces do not extend the duel.
- A Blazed Ahri must respect Sear more than Brand's raw damage.
- Charm is easiest after he casts Pillar of Flame because he often pauses to line up Sear.
- Spirit Rush through the side of his combo, not backward along Sear's path.

Cho'GathEven
Ahri can kite Cho'Gath and dodge Rupture, but one silence into Feast range can turn the fight before she gets to use her mobility.
Watch for Feral Scream: it silences Ahri long enough for Rupture or Feast range to become unavoidable.
How to beat
Stay just outside Feral Scream cone range and harass with Orb return damage while moving laterally around Rupture. Save Spirit Rush for after he casts Rupture or to leave Feast range once he closes. Commit only when Feral Scream is down; otherwise Charm can be interrupted by silence before it matters.
Later Cho'Gath becomes hard for Ahri to kill in side lane, especially with Feast stacks and magic resist. In teamfights Ahri should not waste full burst into him unless he is isolated; use Charm to punish his approach or bypass him for softer targets.
- Do not dash into Feral Scream range to land Charm unless his silence is down.
- Orb return true damage is your best chip against his tank build.
- Feast means low-health bait is dangerous even if you still have Spirit Rush.
- Rupture is easier to dodge sideways than backward.

CorkiEven
Ahri can burst Corki if Charm lands, but Corki's mixed damage, poke, and Valkyrie make him hard to pin down cleanly.
Watch for Valkyrie: it denies Charm follow-up or turns Ahri's commit into a fight through his damage trail.
How to beat
Trade around minions so Missile Barrage splash and Phosphorus Bomb do not constantly tag you for free. Bait Valkyrie with a partial Spirit Rush angle or Charm threat, then commit when his escape is down. Avoid chasing straight through Valkyrie's trail; cut across it and use Orb return damage as he exits.
Later Corki scales into stronger sustained damage in teamfights, while Ahri keeps better pick threat if she catches him without Valkyrie. Side-lane duels depend on whether Ahri can force his escape before spending all dashes.
- Do not full-commit while Valkyrie is available unless Charm is already guaranteed.
- Move perpendicular to Missile Barrage so he cannot stack poke before the all-in.
- Charm after Valkyrie lands, not at the start of its travel.
- His true-damage autos make extended low-health trades worse than they look.

Dr. MundoUnfavoured
Ahri can kite Dr. Mundo early, but she struggles to kill through Sadism and loses long fights if Cleavers keep landing.
Watch for Sadism: it erases your burst window and lets Mundo keep walking through your cooldowns.
How to beat
Keep maximum Orb range and dodge Infected Cleaver sideways; if Cleaver lands, do not continue a long chase while slowed. Use Charm to interrupt his approach and disengage unless Sadism is unavailable or he is already low enough for Morellonomicon to matter. Commit in short bursts, then reset before Burning Agony and repeated cleavers drain you out.
Later Mundo wins most finished side-lane standoffs because Ahri cannot quickly chew through his health and regeneration. In teamfights Ahri should apply Grievous Wounds if available, kite him off carries with Charm, and look for backline picks instead of tunneling the tank.
- Morellonomicon is the key specific buy because Sadism is the matchup.
- Do not chase during Sadism unless he is already cut off from safety.
- A missed Infected Cleaver is your brief window to land Charm or retreat.
- Orb return true damage helps, but it does not replace anti-heal.

EvelynnEven
Ahri wins if she sees Evelynn coming and lands Charm, but Evelynn's Camouflage lets her choose close-range starts that punish missed cooldowns.
Watch for Shadow Walk: it lets Evelynn start the duel from an angle where Ahri has little time to line up Charm.
How to beat
Do not stand in unwarded side space; keep enough distance that Evelynn must reveal before Ravage range. When she appears, hold Charm for the direct run-in or after Agony's Embrace slow, then Spirit Rush out of Hate Spike lines. If she misses the first slow or overextends without burst, turn with full combo before Dark Frenzy movement lets her reset.
Later Evelynn is more dangerous in fog and side-lane ambushes, while Ahri is stronger when teams are grouped around vision. Use wards and Twin Shadows-style scouting to deny her first contact, then Charm her when she commits to a carry.
- Pink-style vision and scouting matter more than raw combat stats in this matchup.
- Do not spend Charm on fog guesses unless you know her path.
- Spirit Rush away from Hate Spike's line, not just away from Evelynn.
- If Agony's Embrace misses, she has a much harder time staying on you.

EzrealEven
Ahri can punish Ezreal after Arcane Shift, but if he holds it well he can kite her skillshots and win with Mystic Shot uptime.
Watch for Arcane Shift: it dodges Charm or creates the spacing Ezreal needs to kite the rest of Ahri's combo.
How to beat
Pressure with Orb and movement until Ezreal uses Arcane Shift defensively or greedily for damage. Do not throw Charm as your first visible spell unless you have forced his blink or trapped his movement angle. Once Arcane Shift is down, Spirit Rush forward to close, Charm the landing path, and end the duel before Mystic Shot cooldown refunds take over.
Later Ezreal's poke and mobility make him hard to catch in grouped fights, but Ahri still wins isolated picks when his Shift is down. In side lane, avoid long poke wars and play for a forced blink into all-in rather than trading Mystic Shots forever.
- Charm where Arcane Shift ends if he uses it predictably over terrain or backward.
- Stand away from minions so Mystic Shot cannot safely farm and poke in one line.
- Do not use all Spirit Rush charges before Arcane Shift is committed.
- Trueshot Barrage's channel is a free Charm angle if you are in range.

FiddlesticksUnfavoured
Fiddlesticks can shut Ahri down with point-click fear and Drain sustain, and Crowstorm punishes her if she dashes into his setup.
Watch for Terrify: it removes control long enough for Drain or Crowstorm damage to decide the duel.
How to beat
Stay outside Terrify range until you have forced him to use it or can burst immediately after it ends. Save Charm to break or prevent Drain, not as random poke, because uninterrupted Drain can undo your combo. If he channels Crowstorm from fog, Spirit Rush out first, then re-enter only after the damage zone is no longer winning the fight.
Later Fiddlesticks is far more threatening in teamfights than side-lane duels because Crowstorm from fog can decide the engage. Ahri should ward flanks, keep distance from fear range, and use Charm to interrupt Drain or punish him after he appears.
- Mercury's Treads meaningfully reduces the fear window.
- Charm cancels Drain if you hold it until he starts channeling.
- Never chase into fog when Crowstorm is available.
- Dark Wind silence can stop your escape combo if you stand near minions or allies.

GangplankEven
Ahri can kite Gangplank, but Remove Scurvy erases Charm and his Parrrley trades punish her if she cannot force a real all-in.
Watch for Remove Scurvy: it cleanses Charm and denies Ahri's main kill setup while healing him.
How to beat
Harass with Orb from outside Parrrley-heavy trade patterns and make him use Remove Scurvy before committing Spirit Rush. Charm is best after he burns W or when he must choose between cleansing the CC and dying to the rest of the combo. Avoid fighting inside Cannon Barrage if it slows your dash angles and lets him close for melee autos.
Later Gangplank becomes a stronger sustained side-lane threat if he can survive the first burst and cleanse Charm. Ahri contributes more by picking him after Remove Scurvy is down or by forcing him away from fights before Cannon Barrage zones her team.
- Do not rely on a single Charm while Remove Scurvy is ready.
- Cannon Barrage can turn a winning chase into a slowed Parrrley fight.
- His melee threat rises sharply if you spend Spirit Rush forward with no kill secured.
- Poke first; force the orange, then all-in.

GarenEven
Ahri can kite Garen indefinitely at range, but if Decisive Strike reaches her, silence into Judgment and Demacian Justice can end the duel fast.
Watch for Decisive Strike: it breaks slows, closes distance, and silences Ahri before she can Charm or Spirit Rush cleanly.
How to beat
Keep outside Decisive Strike reach and tag him often enough to stop Perseverance from resetting the lane. When he activates Q, move back and save Charm until the speed burst is committed, then dash away from Judgment range. Commit only after his silence is down; otherwise your all-in can become a melee execute setup for him.
Later Garen is harder to burst when finished and can win side-lane fights if he gets into execute range, but he still struggles to start on Ahri without flank angles. In teamfights Ahri should avoid wasting cooldowns into Courage-style durability and instead Charm him off carries or look past him.
- A light Orb tag stopping Perseverance is worth more than forcing a risky trade.
- Do not dash forward while Decisive Strike is available.
- Track Demacian Justice when fighting below half health; it changes the retreat threshold.
- Charm after his silence swing misses or expires.

GragasEven
Ahri can kite and threaten Charm picks, but Gragas can erase her spacing with Body Slam and break her all-in with Explosive Cask.
Watch for Explosive Cask: it knocks Ahri out of her Spirit Rush path and can either deny her return damage or throw her into Body Slam range.
How to beat
Stay just outside Body Slam range and make him spend Barrel Roll for wave or poke before walking up for Orb of Deception. Hold Charm until after Body Slam starts or after he has used it; pre-casting into his dash is your cleanest kill window. Commit with Spirit Rush only when Explosive Cask is down or when you can dash sideways, not straight through him.
Later Gragas is harder to kill in the side lane once he has health and resistances, but Ahri still has better pick angles if she keeps vision control. In teamfights he brings stronger disruption, so play off Charm from fog and save a Spirit Rush charge to recover after Cask displacement.
- Do not throw Charm through a minion wave while Body Slam is available; he can answer immediately.
- If he channels Drunken Rage in range, use the timing to land Orb of Deception before he moves again.
- Spirit Rush diagonally around Barrel Roll so the return Q does not force you back through the slow zone.

HeimerdingerEven
Ahri has the mobility to reach Heimerdinger, but his turrets and grenade punish direct all-ins through his setup.
Watch for CH-1 Concussion Grenade: the center stun stops Ahri's dash chain and lets turrets and rockets finish the trade.
How to beat
Do not fight him inside multiple H-28G Evolution Turrets unless Charm has already landed. Clear or thin turrets with Orb of Deception from max range, then look for Charm when he steps forward to rocket. Spirit Rush should be used to angle around grenade, not simply to close straight through it.
Later Heimerdinger is still stronger at holding ground and sieging, while Ahri is stronger at starting fights away from his turrets. In grouped fights, flank him after his grenade is used or ignore him until his zone is broken.
- Count turret positions before committing; one turret is manageable, two or more turns the duel.
- Rockets hit nearby targets, so standing alone near him makes his poke cleaner.
- Charm him after he places a turret, when his movement is briefly predictable.

JannaFavoured
Janna can disengage Ahri's first attempt, but she lacks the damage to win a fair isolated duel if Ahri saves mobility for the knockback.
Watch for Monsoon: it interrupts Ahri's kill sequence and resets the spacing Janna needs to escape.
How to beat
Pressure from 550 range and do not burn all three Spirit Rush charges before Monsoon. Bait Eye Of The Storm with Orb poke, then Charm after the shield falls or when she starts charging Howling Gale. Once Monsoon is down, Ahri can chase through Zephyr and finish with return Q.
Later Janna does not want the side-lane duel, but she is much more valuable in grouped fights because she denies dives. Ahri should avoid forcing through Monsoon and instead Charm targets before Janna is in shield or ult range.
- Dash sideways when Howling Gale is charging; the longer it charges, the more obvious the lane becomes.
- Do not Charm into Eye Of The Storm if you can wait out the shield.
- Keep one Spirit Rush charge for after Monsoon, not before it.

Jarvan IVEven
Ahri can punish Jarvan before he reaches her, but a clean engage into Cataclysm can trap her long enough for his physical burst to matter.
Watch for Cataclysm: it locks Ahri in terrain and forces Spirit Rush usage on his terms.
How to beat
Keep the lane long and stand off the Demacian Standard line so Dragon Strike cannot knock you up. Charm him during the flag-drag travel or immediately after he lands, then kite backward with Orb return damage. Save at least one Spirit Rush charge for Cataclysm unless you know it is down.
Later Jarvan becomes a stronger front-line engager in teamfights, while Ahri remains better at picking isolated carries. In side lane, Ahri can win if she dodges the engage, but she should not chase into fog where Cataclysm starts the fight at melee range.
- If Demacian Standard is already on the ground, reposition before trading; the Q line is fixed.
- Charm is strongest during his dash, not after he has already slowed you with Golden Aegis.
- Spirit Rush can reposition inside Cataclysm, but do not spend all charges before the wall drops.

JaxEven
Ahri controls the fight at range, but Jax wins if Leap Strike and Counter Strike force her to fight in melee through his sustained damage.
Watch for Leap Strike: it closes Ahri's safe range and lets Jax start Empower and Counter Strike trades before she can freely kite.
How to beat
Hold 550 range and punish him every time Leap Strike is unavailable. Do not waste Charm into Counter Strike pressure unless he has committed forward; Charm after Leap Strike lands or as he walks out of the dodge window. Use Spirit Rush to create distance, not to chase him before his cooldowns are spent.
Later Finished-item Jax wins extended side-lane fights if he sticks to Ahri, while Ahri is better in teamfights when she can Charm him before he reaches the backline. Avoid isolated long trades and play for burst windows around his Leap Strike cooldown.
- Counter Strike does not stop Charm, but it does reduce area damage, so do not rely on Fox-Fire and Orb alone during it.
- If Jax jumps to a minion, back up immediately; he is choosing the trade timing.
- Short trades favor Ahri; repeated melee autos favor Jax quickly.

KarthusFavoured
Ahri's mobility makes Lay Waste unreliable and Charm gives her a cleaner burst window than Karthus has in an isolated duel.
Watch for Death Defied: killing Karthus does not end the danger, and staying near his spirit lets him cast through Ahri's low-health escape.
How to beat
Move unpredictably at mid range so Lay Waste cannot isolate you, then punish him when Wall of Pain is down or missed. Charm is easy to land if he walks forward with Defile, but do not dash into his body without enough health to survive Death Defied. After the kill, use Spirit Rush or Flash distance instead of standing in his passive zone.
Later Karthus is more threatening in full teamfights because Requiem and Death Defied still contribute after he dies. Ahri wins side-lane picks, but in grouped fights she should either kill him from the edge or save mobility to exit his passive.
- Do not finish him at point-blank range unless Spirit Rush is available afterward.
- Wall of Pain makes your next dash predictable; cross it only when you can immediately leave the Defile area.
- Interrupting Requiem is not Ahri's job unless Charm is already lined up.

KassadinUnfavoured
Kassadin's magic damage reduction, silence, and Riftwalk mobility make it difficult for Ahri to land a full spell rotation before he answers.
Watch for Null Sphere: the silence cuts off Ahri's Charm or Spirit Rush follow-up and lets Kassadin control the first burst window.
How to beat
Abuse him before level 6 by holding max auto and Orb range and forcing him to spend Null Sphere defensively. After Riftwalk, do not chase in a straight line; bait the first jump, Charm where he exits, and disengage if Q silence has stopped your combo. Commit only when he has stacked Riftwalk poorly or used it to farm or escape.
Later Kassadin outscales Ahri in side-lane duels and can choose when the fight starts. In teamfights, Ahri should protect flanks with vision and Charm his landing spot rather than trying to match his mobility alone.
- His passive directly reduces your magic burst, so missing the true-damage return of Orb is especially costly.
- If Null Sphere is up, start with spacing and Orb, not Charm.
- Do not spend all Spirit Rush charges chasing Riftwalk; he wins the next cooldown cycle.

KatarinaFavoured
Ahri has the range, mobility, and Charm interrupt to deny Katarina's Death Lotus and win the controlled duel.
Watch for Death Lotus: if Charm is unavailable, it punishes Ahri for staying within Katarina's reset range.
How to beat
Keep outside Shunpo follow-up range unless Charm is ready. Poke with Orb and autos, then save Charm specifically to interrupt Death Lotus or catch her after Shunpo. Once Death Lotus is cancelled, Spirit Rush through her and land both halves of Orb before she can reset cooldowns.
Later Katarina is more dangerous in messy teamfights where Voracity resets matter, but Ahri still has the cleaner single-target stop. Hold Charm until Katarina commits; spending it early is what lets her clean up fights.
- Never use Charm casually when Death Lotus is available.
- If she Shunpos onto you, dash sideways before casting Orb so both hits line up through her retreat.
- Low-health allied skirmishes make Katarina stronger; do not duel her near reset targets.

KayleUnfavoured
Kayle's ranged Righteous Fury trades and Intervention deny Ahri's burst timing, forcing Ahri to win through cooldown discipline rather than raw damage.
Watch for Intervention: it blanks Ahri's kill combo and leaves her exposed after Spirit Rush charges are spent.
How to beat
Stay outside Reckoning range when Righteous Fury is active and trade when her ranged window falls off. Bait Intervention with a partial combo, then disengage instead of dumping all damage into immunity. Recommit with Spirit Rush only after Intervention expires and Kayle no longer has the slow to hold you in auto range.
Later Kayle usually wins extended side-lane fights with sustained ranged damage and immunity, while Ahri brings better pick setup before Kayle can ult the target. In teamfights, Charm Kayle or a carry before Intervention is in range, or force the ult and immediately swap targets.
- Do not cast Orb return damage into Intervention if you can delay your path.
- Reckoning's slow is the start of her winning trade, not just poke.
- When Righteous Fury is down, she is much easier to threaten with Charm spacing.

KennenEven
Both champions have ranged poke and strong engage windows, with the duel decided by whether Ahri dodges Mark chains and saves Charm for Kennen's Lightning Rush or ultimate.
Watch for Slicing Maelstrom: it turns a close-range Spirit Rush engage into repeated marks, stun threat, and heavy area damage.
How to beat
Trade at max range and keep moving laterally so Thundering Shuriken does not set up Electrical Surge. Do not dash into his ult radius unless Charm has landed or Lightning Rush is down. If he uses Lightning Rush forward, Charm the exit path and then unload Orb and Fox-Fire while he cannot freely chase.
Later Kennen is stronger in grouped teamfights if he finds a multi-man ultimate, while Ahri is stronger at single-target picks before the engage. In side lane, Ahri can win short trades but should disengage once she has two Marks of the Storm.
- Track marks; the third mark stun is the real all-in timer.
- Charm after Lightning Rush commits, not while he is still too fast to line up cleanly.
- Spirit Rush out of Slicing Maelstrom first, then decide whether to re-enter.

Kog'MawFavoured
Ahri can burst and reposition around Kog'Maw's skillshots before his Bio-Arcane Barrage sustained damage decides the fight.
Watch for Bio-Arcane Barrage: it extends Kog'Maw's range and turns any failed Ahri engage into percent-health sustained damage.
How to beat
Wait out Bio-Arcane Barrage or force him to use it defensively, then look for Charm from outside Void Ooze's slow trail. Spirit Rush should angle around his artillery line and put you close enough for Fox-Fire without standing still for autos. After killing him, immediately leave Icathian Surprise range.
Later Kog'Maw is much stronger in protected teamfights, but he remains vulnerable in side-lane and fog-of-war picks. Ahri should flank and Charm him before his frontline can lock her down, then dash out before his passive explosion.
- Do not chase through Void Ooze; it gives him the auto time he needs.
- His passive means the duel is not over at lethal damage; save a dash to exit.
- When Bio-Arcane Barrage is down, his effective threat range drops sharply.

Lee SinEven
Ahri can outplay Lee Sin with Charm and dashes, but Lee wins hard if Sonic Wave lands and lets him force the melee burst sequence.
Watch for Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike: the landed Q gives Lee Sin guaranteed access and execute pressure through Ahri's poke range.
How to beat
Keep minions between you and Sonic Wave until you are ready to fight. If Q misses, punish immediately with Charm and Orb while his gap close is gone; if Q lands, hold Spirit Rush to dodge the follow-up angle or create distance after Resonating Strike. Do not chase Lee near wards or allies because Safeguard changes the spacing instantly.
Later Lee Sin falls off as a pure duelist compared with Ahri's pick threat, but Dragon's Rage can still remove her from a fight. In teamfights, stay off obvious kick angles and punish him after he has used Safeguard or Q to enter.
- Charm can catch Resonating Strike's arrival if you hold it instead of panicking.
- A missed Sonic Wave is your green light; a landed one means disengage first.
- Do not line up behind allies when Dragon's Rage is available.

LeonaFavoured
Leona has strong lockdown but too little solo damage to kill Ahri unless she lands the full engage without Ahri saving mobility.
Watch for Zenith Blade: it is Leona's only reliable way to start the duel and chain into Shield of Daybreak and Solar Flare.
How to beat
Stay behind minions or outside Zenith Blade range and poke her shield down before committing. If she misses E, Ahri can freely Charm and kite because Leona has no ranged escape. Save Spirit Rush for after Solar Flare or the Zenith Blade connect, not for early poke.
Later Leona is much more relevant in teamfights than side-lane duels because her crowd control sets up allies. Ahri should not waste burst on Eclipse unless Leona is isolated; look past her for Charm picks on carries.
- Eclipse makes her deceptively durable; wait out the resist window when possible.
- If Zenith Blade connects, dash after the root pull so she cannot easily Q you.
- Leona alone is rarely the problem; the danger is being locked for her team.

LuluEven
Ahri can threaten Lulu with burst, but Whimsy, shield, and Wild Growth give Lulu enough denial to survive and turn a bad commit.
Watch for Whimsy: the polymorph stops Ahri's spell chain and can waste Spirit Rush time during the all-in.
How to beat
Poke with Orb at max range and make Lulu spend Help, Pix! before you commit. Do not start Spirit Rush while Whimsy is ready unless Charm has already landed; otherwise she can polymorph and walk out. After Wild Growth is used, disengage briefly and re-enter when the bonus health no longer absorbs your burst.
Later Lulu is stronger as a teamfight enchanter than as a side-lane duelist, but she can still deny Ahri's assassination windows. Ahri should force cooldowns with poke, then switch targets when Lulu commits Wild Growth defensively.
- Charm before Whimsy is the matchup; Whimsy before Charm usually ends your kill attempt.
- Pix changes Glitterlance angles, so watch where Pix is standing after Help, Pix!.
- Do not spend Fox-Fire into her shield if you can wait half a beat.

LuxEven
Ahri has better mobility and close-range kill pressure, while Lux can win from range if Light Binding catches Ahri before Spirit Rush is available.
Watch for Light Binding: it roots Ahri long enough for Lucent Singularity and Finales Funkeln to land together.
How to beat
Stand off the minion line so Light Binding cannot tag you through the wave. Trade with Orb from angles, then commit when Binding is down or when you can Spirit Rush sideways past it. Save Charm for after Lux uses Prismatic Barrier or when she stops to cast Finales Funkeln.
Later Lux offers stronger long-range siege and burst follow-up in teamfights, but Ahri is better at flanking and punishing her immobility. In side lane, Ahri wins if she dodges Binding; if she gets rooted, Lux can one-rotation her.
- Do not dash straight at Lux; Binding is easiest when your path is obvious.
- Her shield returns, so wait for the second pass before judging lethal damage.
- Charm can punish Finales Funkeln's cast commitment if you are already off the beam line.

MalphiteEven
Ahri can kite Malphite before he engages, but Unstoppable Force guarantees a dangerous close-range window if she misuses Spirit Rush.
Watch for Unstoppable Force: it bypasses Ahri's normal spacing and starts the fight with knockup burst before she can Charm.
How to beat
Keep Granite Shield broken with light poke before looking for real damage. Hold Spirit Rush until after Unstoppable Force or use it only when you are outside his ult angle; never spend all charges poking his shield. Once he ults and misses or lands without follow-up damage, Charm his exit path and kite with Orb return.
Later Malphite is more valuable in teamfights because his engage is reliable and does not need to win the duel. Ahri should split only with vision and play grouped fights from the side, outside his primary ultimate line.
- Breaking Granite Shield first matters; full combos into the shield make the duel look worse than it is.
- Seismic Shard steals movement speed, so back off before it lets him line up ultimate.
- If he builds heavy magic resist, stop trying to solo-kill him and use Charm to start on his carries.

MalzaharUnfavoured
Malzahar is dangerous because his point-and-click suppress punishes Ahri the moment Spirit Rush is down or used forward.
Watch for Nether Grasp suppresses you through your mobility and holds you in Null Zone damage long enough for his full combo to land.
How to beat
Stay just outside 550 unless Charm is ready, and do not spend all Spirit Rush charges before Nether Grasp is down. Clear Voidlings with Orb of Deception so Malefic Visions cannot bounce freely, then look for Charm while he is casting Call of the Void or after he uses E on the wave.
Later Finished builds favor Malzahar in a raw side-lane catch if he has Nether Grasp, but Ahri is better at finding picks before the front line is set. In teamfights, avoid being the first target and force him to choose between ulting you and holding it for your carry.
- Save at least one Spirit Rush charge until Nether Grasp is unavailable or cleansed.
- Charm can interrupt follow-up positioning, but it cannot save you once the suppression has started.
- Kill Voidlings before trading so they do not add free damage during his combo.
- Do not stand in the wave with Malefic Visions ticking near you.

Master YiEven
Ahri can kite and burst Master Yi, but Alpha Strike and Highlander punish missed Charm harder than most melee champions do.
Watch for Alpha Strike dodges your Charm or Orb timing while closing the gap for Highlander autos.
How to beat
Hold 550 range and make Yi use Alpha Strike to reach you, not to dodge your Charm after you commit. When he exits Alpha Strike, Charm immediately before he can stick with Highlander, then burst and kite with Spirit Rush. If he uses Meditate to block the burst, stop wasting spells and reposition for the next Charm window.
Later Yi becomes the stronger side-lane duelist if he can force repeated all-ins, while Ahri offers safer pick and peel in teamfights. Keep visioned space between you and him and save Charm as an anti-dive tool rather than fishing blindly.
- Do not throw Charm while he can Alpha Strike from neutral range unless you are baiting it.
- Spirit Rush sideways after Alpha Strike ends so his path to you is predictable.
- Meditate can waste your second rotation; wait it out if he starts it early.
- Highlander ignores slows, so Rylai-style kiting is not the answer by itself.

Miss FortuneFavoured
Miss Fortune has strong ranged damage but no real answer to Charm plus Spirit Rush once Ahri avoids Bullet Time.
Watch for Bullet Time punishes a straight-line chase or Charm miss by forcing you to eat a full channel.
How to beat
Trade from outside Double Up bounce angles and keep minions from lining up behind each other toward you. Bait Make It Rain or Bullet Time, then Spirit Rush diagonally out of the cone and Charm her while she is locked in the channel or repositioning. Once Charm lands, she lacks a defensive cooldown to stop your full combo.
Later Ahri remains favored in side-lane picks, but Miss Fortune can win teamfights harder if she channels Bullet Time through your team. Your job later is to threaten flank angles that make her cancel or hold the ultimate.
- Never stand behind a low-health minion where Double Up can bounce into you.
- Spirit Rush across Bullet Time, not backward through the cone.
- Charming during Bullet Time cancels the channel if you reach the angle.
- Her Strut disappears after damage, so tag her before chasing.

MorganaEven
Morgana can deny Ahri's pick pattern with Black Shield, but Ahri has enough mobility to avoid her slow bindings and re-engage after the shield fades.
Watch for Black Shield blocks Charm and removes the clean engage window Ahri normally relies on.
How to beat
Do not open with Charm into an unused Black Shield; pressure with Orb of Deception and Fox-Fire first to force the shield or chip it down. Keep lateral spacing so Dark Binding cannot start the fight, then commit when Black Shield is down or too weak to absorb Charm. If she casts Soul Shackles, Spirit Rush out before the second hit stuns.
Later Morgana is harder for Ahri to assassinate late because Black Shield protects herself or a carry, but Ahri can still win side pressure by dodging bindings. In teamfights, shift from solo kill hunting to breaking shield, drawing cooldowns, and charming the next exposed target.
- Orb's return damage helps break Black Shield because it comes after the first hit.
- Do not chase through Tormented Soil while waiting for Black Shield to expire.
- Spirit Rush can leave Soul Shackles range before the stun checks.
- A missed Dark Binding is your clearest trade window.

NasusFavoured
Ahri controls the duel until Nasus is extremely farmed because he has to walk through Charm, Orb, and Spirit Rush to reach her.
Watch for Wither removes your ability to kite if Nasus is already close enough to keep hitting you.
How to beat
Hold max spell range and punish every Siphoning Strike attempt with Orb of Deception. Save Spirit Rush for after Wither starts ramping, then dash away from him rather than through him unless you are finishing the kill. Commit when Fury of the Sands is down or after he has used Wither and cannot force you to stay in range.
Later A finished, stacked Nasus wins extended side-lane fights if he reaches Ahri, while Ahri remains much better at picks and backline access. Later, do not match him in a long lane without vision and space; waveclear and rotate before he pins you down.
- Charm him when he walks up for Siphoning Strike, not after Wither has already trapped you.
- Fury of the Sands makes short burst trades worse, so disengage and re-enter after it fades.
- Do not spend all Spirit Rush charges aggressively while Wither is available.
- Orb through the minion he wants to Q so he pays health for stacks.

NidaleeEven
The matchup is skill-driven because Ahri wins if she dodges Javelin Toss and lands Charm, while Nidalee wins if spear or trap damage lets cougar form finish the all-in.
Watch for Javelin Toss from long range chunks you low enough that cougar form can jump in before you can duel properly.
How to beat
Stand behind minions and move laterally at spear range, then close only after Javelin Toss misses. Watch for Bushwhack paths because the resist shred makes her cougar burst far more dangerous. Commit with Spirit Rush when human Q is down, and hold Charm for her cougar Pounce direction rather than throwing it at max range.
Later Nidalee is stronger at siege poke and slippery side-lane disengage, while Ahri is stronger at forcing a hard pick when Charm connects. In teamfights, dodge spears first, then use Spirit Rush to punish her when she swaps forward or heals a carry in range.
- A trap proc is a real fight reset; back off until the shred is gone.
- Charm is easiest when she Pounces in cougar form.
- Do not chase through brush where Prowl lets her reset distance.
- Orb return can tag her after she turns to retreat from a spear trade.

Nunu & WillumpFavoured
Nunu is durable and annoying, but he lacks the burst or mobility to kill Ahri unless she stands in Absolute Zero.
Watch for Absolute Zero forces you to spend Spirit Rush or lose the duel to a huge channel burst and slow.
How to beat
Trade at 550 and do not let repeated Ice Blasts bait you into walking toward him. Save a dash or Charm for Absolute Zero; either leave the radius instantly or interrupt his channel if you are in range. Since Consume does not work on champions, long trades favor Ahri once his snowball cooldown is spent.
Later Nunu rarely wants a true side-lane duel with Ahri, and she can usually push him off without killing him quickly. In teamfights he is more valuable as a steroid and zone champion, so Ahri should avoid the Absolute Zero area and attack his carries instead.
- Do not dash into melee unless Absolute Zero is unavailable.
- Ice Blast slows your chase, but Spirit Rush still creates enough distance to reset.
- Charm cancels Absolute Zero if you have line of sight and are not already too far slowed.
- His sustain is tied to minions and monsters, so fight away from waves when possible.

OlafUnfavoured
Olaf is a bad duel for Ahri because Ragnarok removes Charm from the fight and Undertow lets him keep forcing melee range.
Watch for Ragnarok makes him immune to Charm during the window where Ahri normally stops a melee all-in.
How to beat
Poke with Orb before he is in axe range and never start the all-in while Ragnarok is available. If he ults, spend Spirit Rush defensively across terrain or toward safety, because trying to burst through Vicious Strikes and his low-health attack speed is unreliable. Re-engage only after Ragnarok fades and he has missed Undertow or walked too far from his axe.
Later Olaf wins most isolated side-lane duels if he can run at Ahri with Ragnarok, while Ahri contributes more by flanking targets Olaf is not protecting. In teamfights, kite his ultimate out and look past him once his anti-CC window ends.
- Charm after Ragnarok, not into it.
- Do not follow him toward a thrown axe; he wants the cooldown refund path.
- Low-health Olaf is more lethal because Berserker Rage and Vicious Strikes peak there.
- Spirit Rush should create distance during Ragnarok instead of chasing damage.

PantheonUnfavoured
Pantheon's targeted stun and early physical burst make the duel harsh if Ahri cannot keep him outside Aegis of Zeonia range.
Watch for Aegis of Zeonia stuns you in place so Spear Shot and Heartseeker Strike can land before you can kite.
How to beat
Respect his leap range and use Orb to trade without walking into Spear Shot loops. If he jumps, Charm immediately after the stun ends or buffer your movement with Spirit Rush to leave Heartseeker Strike's cone. Commit only after Aegis of Zeonia is down, because Pantheon without stun is much easier to kite.
Later Ahri scales into better pick and teamfight mobility, but Pantheon can still kill her from fog or with Grand Skyfall follow-up if she is isolated. In side lanes, keep defensive vision and avoid fighting him when his full stun combo is ready.
- His passive blocks basic attacks, not your spell burst, so do not waste time trying to remove it before casting.
- Sidestep out of Heartseeker Strike's cone as soon as Aegis stun ends.
- Grand Skyfall is more about cutting off your escape than winning the direct duel.
- Seeker's Armguard changes the matchup more than extra damage does.

RammusEven
Ahri can kite Rammus and avoid most damage, but a clean Powerball into Taunt can lock her long enough for his team or Tremors to matter.
Watch for Puncturing Taunt removes your control and forces you to attack Rammus while he stands on you with Defensive Ball Curl and Tremors.
How to beat
Keep minions or terrain between you and Powerball so he cannot start the fight cleanly. If Powerball is coming, Charm him before impact or Spirit Rush sideways, then punish while it is down. Do not auto him during Defensive Ball Curl unless you are forced by Taunt; use spells and disengage from Tremors.
Later Rammus is not a champion Ahri usually needs to duel late, and he becomes hard to kill through defensive stats. In teamfights, hold Charm for his engage path and then ignore him unless he has overcommitted away from his carries.
- Charm stops Powerball if you hit him before collision.
- Spirit Rush sideways beats Powerball more reliably than running straight back.
- Do not chase into Defensive Ball Curl and Tremors just because he is low.
- Mercury's Treads matter if his taunt is deciding every fight.

RyzeUnfavoured
Ryze wins many even-resource duels because Rune Prison guarantees his spell chain while Ahri must land Charm to match his damage.
Watch for Rune Prison roots you in range for Overload, Spell Flux, and Desperate Power follow-up.
How to beat
Trade at max range and do not step into Rune Prison range unless Charm is ready and his movement is predictable. Bait Desperate Power or Rune Prison, then dash out and re-enter after the root window ends. Your best kill pattern is Charm first; if he roots first, use Spirit Rush defensively and do not let Spell Flux bounce through nearby minions.
Later Ryze becomes the stronger side-lane duelist with finished mana and defensive items, while Ahri remains better at choosing when fights start. In teamfights, avoid front-to-back trading with him and look for angles on carries before Ryze can root you.
- Do not fight beside your own wave when Spell Flux can bounce value into you.
- Charm must land before Rune Prison or you are trading into his guaranteed rotation.
- Desperate Power gives him move speed and spell vamp, so kite that timer instead of forcing.
- Banshee's Veil can block the root that starts his whole duel.

ShacoEven
Ahri wins if she survives the first Deceive angle and charms the real Shaco, but loses quickly if fear boxes or clone confusion waste her burst.
Watch for Deceive gives Shaco an unseen backstab angle and lets him dodge the first spell you throw too early.
How to beat
Stay near minions or warded paths so Deceive has fewer clean backstab angles, and do not throw Charm until he appears or commits from a predictable direction. If Jack In The Box is nearby, move the fight away before all-inning. When Hallucinate is used, wait a beat to identify the real Shaco before spending Orb and Fox-Fire.
Later Shaco is more threatening in side-lane fog and jungle entrances, while Ahri is better in direct teamfight picks if she keeps vision control. Later, avoid blind chases and use Spirit Rush to disengage from clone explosion or fear boxes rather than to follow him into traps.
- Charm the spot he exits Deceive from, not the last place you saw him.
- Fox-Fire can reveal your target choice badly into clone, so confirm the real one first.
- Never Spirit Rush through a known Jack In The Box line.
- His clone explosion punishes finishing at melee range.

ShenFavoured
Shen is hard to kill but Ahri controls the duel because he has only one real engage and cannot match her ranged poke.
Watch for Shadow Dash taunts you long enough for Shen to force melee trades and set up Ki Strike damage.
How to beat
Stand outside Shadow Dash threat and punish Vorpal Blade trades with Orb of Deception. If he dashes, Spirit Rush perpendicular to the line or Charm him as he exits the dash. Commit after Shadow Dash or Feint is down, because without them he cannot stop your spacing.
Later Shen can neutralize side lanes with durability and Stand United, but he rarely kills Ahri alone unless she mispositions into taunt. In teamfights, interrupt his backline path with Charm or punish the target he shields after Stand United lands.
- Move sideways against Shadow Dash; running straight back keeps you in the line.
- Do not blow your full combo into Feint if you can wait it out.
- Charm can catch him after a missed dash when he has no second gap closer.
- Track Stand United because the duel may turn into a numbers fight.

SingedEven
Ahri can kite Singed, but if she lets him reach Fling range or chases through Poison Trail, the duel flips quickly.
Watch for Fling throws you behind Singed into Poison Trail and breaks the spacing Ahri needs to win.
How to beat
Keep 550 range and never follow directly through his Poison Trail just to land Fox-Fire. Bait Mega Adhesive or Fling range, then Spirit Rush away at an angle and Charm him as he continues running forward. Fight in short bursts; if Insanity Potion is active, disengage until the stats wear off.
Later Singed is harder to kill late and can win side pressure by ignoring Ahri and forcing waves, but Ahri is more decisive in picks around vision. In teamfights, do not chase him; charm carries or punish him only if he overextends past his team.
- If he turns his back and runs, he is often baiting you through Poison Trail.
- Spirit Rush after Fling can still recover the spacing if you kept charges.
- Mega Adhesive makes your escape path predictable, so leave it sideways.
- Insanity Potion is a disengage timer, not a burst-through target.

SionUnfavoured
Sion's targeted stun and shielded burst make the duel dangerous because Ahri cannot dodge the first crowd control if she enters his range.
Watch for Cryptic Gaze point-click stuns you so Death's Caress can detonate and his follow-up damage lands for free.
How to beat
Harass from max Orb range and stay outside his stun range until Death's Caress has been used or broken. If he shields, either pop it from distance before it detonates or disengage until it expires. Commit only when Cryptic Gaze is down, because that is the cooldown that decides whether Ahri can actually kite.
Later AD Sion-style finished duels become worse for Ahri if he reaches her with Cannibalism and sustained attacks, while AP burst Sion still threatens pick range. In teamfights, keep him at arm's length and save Charm for after he spends stun or when he walks at your carry.
- Do not let Death's Caress detonate on you just to finish a combo.
- His stun is targeted, so the answer is range discipline, not sidestepping.
- Charm after Cryptic Gaze cooldown is spent gives him no clean way back in.
- If Cannibalism is active, avoid extended trades where his lifesteal matters.

SivirEven
Sivir can block Charm with Spell Shield, but Ahri wins the duel if she breaks or baits it before committing.
Watch for Spell Shield eats Charm and turns Ahri's engage window into Sivir's counter-trade.
How to beat
Use Fox-Fire, Orb edge damage, or movement pressure to force Spell Shield before casting Charm. Avoid standing in the full path of Boomerang Blade, especially the return, and do not trade inside her Ricochet wave when minions are stacked. Once Spell Shield is down, Spirit Rush into a Charm angle because Sivir has no dash to escape it.
Later Sivir scales into stronger grouped teamfights with On The Hunt and wave control, while Ahri remains better at isolated catches if Spell Shield is baited. In side lanes Ahri can threaten her, but in 5v5s she should flank rather than throw Charm into the obvious shield target.
- Do not open with Charm unless Spell Shield is already down.
- Orb can pressure Spell Shield because the return hit still matters if she shields the first pass poorly.
- Spirit Rush sideways dodges Boomerang Blade's return path.
- On The Hunt can turn a duel into a collapse, so fight with vision behind her.

SkarnerFavoured
Ahri wins if she keeps Skarner at spell range, because he has to spend Crystalline Exoskeleton just to reach her and cannot threaten Impale without closing the gap.
Watch for Impale: if Skarner gets into melee, the suppression removes your dash timing and drags you through his follow-up damage or into his team.
How to beat
Hold outside his W-boosted run-in range and break Crystalline Exoskeleton with Q or W before he gets a clean path. Save Charm for after he commits forward, not as poke, because stopping his approach is the duel. Once W is down or broken, kite with Orb of Deception and only Spirit Rush aggressively if Impale cannot reach you.
Later Finished Skarner is still hard to kill in a side lane, but Ahri controls the distance unless she is caught without R. In teamfights, treat him as an engage threat rather than a kill target; stay outside Flash or run-up Impale range and punish him after he commits.
- Charm is best used after Crystalline Exoskeleton starts, because breaking the shield also removes his speed window.
- Do not Spirit Rush through him while Impale is ready; dash sideways or backward first.
- If Skarner misses the first touch, his damage is too slow to race your second Q pass.

SonaFavoured
Ahri has the burst, mobility, and Charm threat to kill Sona before her auras and sustain matter in a true duel.
Watch for Crescendo: it stops your Spirit Rush chain and gives Sona the only reliable window to unload Power Chord and escape.
How to beat
Stand just outside Sona's Q and auto pattern, then punish when she walks up to tag you with Hymn of Valor. Bait Crescendo with a short forward move or first Spirit Rush, then re-angle Charm once it is down. If she holds R forever, shove her off space with Q and force her to choose between eating poke or giving ground.
Later Sona does not want the side-lane duel, but her teamfight value is much higher if she lands Crescendo on multiple targets. Ahri should flank or hover off-angle so Sona cannot stun both Ahri and the frontline at once.
- Track Power Chord; the damage-reduction version can blunt your all-in if you rush into it.
- Charm outranges the space Sona wants for Q plus auto trades.
- Spirit Rush after Crescendo is used, because Sona has no second peel spell.

SorakaFavoured
Ahri can force Soraka out with repeated skillshots and kill her through limited self-peel, but Infuse can ruin a careless all-in.
Watch for Infuse: the silence interrupts your burst sequence and can stop Charm or Spirit Rush follow-up at the exact commit moment.
How to beat
Poke from max Q range and do not dash in while Infuse is available unless Soraka is already low enough to die after the silence. Bait Infuse with Fox-Fire or a fake step forward, then Charm as soon as the silence window is gone. Save one Spirit Rush charge to follow Wish or her retreat rather than spending all three at once.
Later Soraka still loses the isolated fight, but she is rarely alone and her global Wish can swing kills elsewhere. In teamfights, Ahri should threaten Soraka from a flank after Infuse is used, because removing her early cuts off sustain and silence for everyone else.
- Her passive magic resist makes shallow poke less impressive, so wait for double-hit Q trades.
- Do not open with Charm if Infuse is ready and she is in range to silence you first.
- Wish buys time, not safety, if you still have a Spirit Rush charge.

TaricFavoured
Taric is dangerous only when he reaches Dazzle range, while Ahri can kite and damage him mostly outside his melee follow-up.
Watch for Dazzle: the targeted stun locks you long enough for Taric to close and stack his burst with Shatter and Radiance.
How to beat
Respect his stun range and use Q to chip him when he walks forward rather than standing still to auto. If he uses Dazzle from max range, back away during the stun recovery and Charm him as he tries to continue into melee. Commit only after Dazzle is down, because Taric has no real way to catch Spirit Rush afterward.
Later Taric becomes a frontline aura and pick support, not a side-lane threat Ahri should fear. In teamfights, avoid being the Dazzle target before engaging and look past him for carries once his stun is spent.
- Max-range Dazzle is less damaging than point-blank Dazzle, so spacing changes the trade heavily.
- Charm after Dazzle lands can still stop his melee follow-up if you buffered distance well.
- Do not waste full burst into Imbue plus defensive aura unless you are already ahead.

TeemoEven
Ahri has better burst and catch, but Teemo's poison, speed, and mushroom control punish missed Charm and messy chase paths.
Watch for Noxious Trap: mushrooms turn your Spirit Rush chase into lost health and slows, often denying the second or third dash follow-up.
How to beat
Fight in cleared space and use Orb of Deception to turn off Move Quick before trying to Charm. Do not chase in a straight line through brush or lane edges where traps are likely; make Teemo come through open ground. Commit when Blinding Dart is used on something low-value or when Teemo has already lost Move Quick from your poke.
Later Teemo's side-lane trap field makes him harder to chase than to duel, while Ahri brings more reliable pick threat in grouped fights. Buy or coordinate vision, sweep paths before flanking, and force him into open lanes where Charm can decide the fight.
- Blinding Dart does not stop your spell damage, so the real issue is the trade time it buys for poison ticks.
- A single Q tag removes Move Quick and makes Charm much easier to line up.
- Do not use all Spirit Rush charges before seeing where the mushroom line starts.

TristanaEven
Ahri can burst Tristana if Charm lands, but Rocket Jump and Buster Shot can reset the distance and punish a missed engage.
Watch for Buster Shot: it knocks Ahri out of her burst range and can waste Spirit Rush charges after she commits.
How to beat
Hold just outside Tristana's auto comfort zone and fish for Charm when she stops to last-hit or use Explosive Shot pressure. Do not spend Spirit Rush purely to gap-close while Rocket Jump and Buster Shot are both up; make her use one defensively first. Once either displacement is down, dash to an angle where Charm cannot be sidestepped by Rocket Jump's landing path.
Later Tristana outscales the side-lane auto-attack duel if she has room, but she still dies to a clean Charm chain. In teamfights, Ahri should play for flank angles and force Buster Shot before committing fully.
- Charm can catch Rocket Jump's start or landing if you aim at the destination, not her current feet.
- If Buster Shot knocks you away, save your next dash until after the knockback finishes.
- Do not trade autos into Rapid Fire; your winning trades are spell rotations.

TryndamereUnfavoured
Ahri can kite Tryndamere for a while, but Undying Rage lets him ignore lethal burst and force her to survive his final chase window.
Watch for Undying Rage: it denies your assassination timing and turns a winning burst into several seconds where you must kite perfectly.
How to beat
Keep maximum Q range and never let Spinning Slash be both his engage and his reset path after you spend Spirit Rush. Charm him after Spinning Slash starts or right as Undying Rage begins, because you need to burn its duration rather than add damage into it. Hold at least one Spirit Rush charge for the last seconds of his ultimate, then re-engage only after it ends.
Later Tryndamere becomes the stronger side-lane duelist and turret threat if he can force repeated all-ins. Ahri is more useful in teamfights through picks, but she should not answer him alone without space, cooldowns, and a plan to disengage Undying Rage.
- Do not ignite or unload the last spell rotation at the start of Undying Rage.
- Charm is a timer tool in this matchup, not just a damage setup.
- If Mocking Shout tags your back while you retreat, expect Spinning Slash to reach you.

Twisted FateFavoured
Ahri wins the direct duel because she has mobility and higher burst, while Twisted Fate relies on landing Pick A Card before she finds Charm.
Watch for Pick A Card Gold Card: the stun gives Twisted Fate a guaranteed Wild Cards hit and can stop your first Spirit Rush angle.
How to beat
Stand off the minion line so Wild Cards cannot clear and poke you at the same time. When he locks Gold Card, either back out until it expires or dash sideways before he can auto; after it is gone, Charm him during his low-mobility window. Punish Gate channels aggressively if you are nearby, because he cannot duel while committing to the map play.
Later Twisted Fate is more about side-lane pressure and Destiny picks than isolated combat. Ahri wins the 1v1 if she reaches him, but she must track Destiny and punish his arrival point or force fights before his global creates numbers advantages.
- Gold Card is the matchup; if it is not locked, he cannot reliably stop your engage.
- Do not line up behind minions for free Wild Cards value.
- Spirit Rush can dodge Wild Cards after Gold Card is used, turning his whole trade off.

TwitchEven
Ahri can kill Twitch quickly if she reveals or predicts him, but Ambush openings and Spray and Pray punish her before she gets a clean Charm.
Watch for Ambush: Twitch chooses the start of the fight, often appearing inside auto range with poison stacks already building toward Expunge.
How to beat
Do not walk into fog without vision when Twitch is missing, because giving him the opener changes the duel. If he appears, dash perpendicular to Spray and Pray's line and Charm where he must keep firing, not where he first reveals. When Ambush is down or revealed early, Ahri's burst is faster than his sustained damage.
Later Twitch is scarier in teamfights if he opens from invisibility onto multiple targets, while Ahri is better at picking him before the fight starts. Use wards and Twin Shadows-style scouting to deny Ambush angles, then force him to fight front-to-back where Charm threatens him.
- Expunge is weak without stacks, so short trades are much better than extended poison fights.
- Charm during Spray and Pray interrupts the stationary damage pattern he wants.
- If Twitch opens first from stealth, use the first dash defensively before trying to burst.

VayneEven
Ahri wins on a clean Charm, but Vayne's Tumble, Condemn, and Final Hour invisibility make landing that spell difficult in close quarters.
Watch for Condemn: it knocks Ahri out of burst range or stuns her against terrain, flipping the duel immediately.
How to beat
Fight away from walls and hold mid range where Vayne must choose between Tumble for damage or Tumble to dodge Charm. Do not dash directly at her in a straight line, because that gives an easy Condemn angle. Commit after Condemn is down or after she uses Tumble visibly outside Final Hour stealth.
Later Vayne becomes the stronger extended side-lane duelist if she has terrain and space to kite. Ahri should play for fog-of-war Charm picks and teamfight flanks, not fair extended chases through Final Hour.
- Side-step before casting Charm; Vayne players look to Tumble the obvious line.
- Never fight her pinned between wall segments where Condemn can stun.
- Save a Spirit Rush charge for her Final Hour Tumble reposition.

VeigarUnfavoured
Veigar threatens Ahri more than most mages because Event Horizon controls her dash space and Primordial Burst scales directly off her AP.
Watch for Primordial Burst: it punishes Ahri for building AP by adding a huge targeted nuke to Veigar's combo.
How to beat
Stay outside Event Horizon cast pressure until you are ready to move, then use Spirit Rush to cross the cage edge only if you can avoid the stun perimeter. Bait Event Horizon with a forward step or first dash, back out, and re-enter while it is down. If Veigar holds cage, poke with max-range Q and do not give him the stationary Charm angle he wants.
Later Veigar's finished burst can one-shot Ahri if he lands cage or gets target range, so the side-lane duel becomes dangerous despite her mobility. In teamfights, flank from angles that force Event Horizon defensively and consider defensive items that block or survive the first spell chain.
- Do not Spirit Rush along Event Horizon's edge; crossing the rim stunned loses the fight.
- Charm is safest after Veigar drops cage, because he has no mobility afterward.
- His ultimate makes raw AP races worse for Ahri than against normal mages.

WarwickUnfavoured
Ahri can kite Warwick before level six, but Infinite Duress gives him a point-and-click suppression that beats her mobility in the all-in.
Watch for Infinite Duress: it suppresses Ahri through Spirit Rush and lets Warwick drain enough health to stay in the duel.
How to beat
Poke from maximum Q range and do not let Hungering Strike trades become repeated short sustain wins for him. Save Charm for after he commits forward or immediately after Infinite Duress ends if you cannot cleanse it. If his ultimate is ready, you need distance, vision, and at least one escape dash before trying to finish him.
Later Warwick remains a better isolated lockdown duelist if he can press R, while Ahri contributes more pick pressure before he reaches her. In teamfights, stay behind the first line of allies and punish Warwick after Infinite Duress is used on someone else or cleansed.
- Blood Scent makes low-health escapes worse, so recall earlier than usual after a failed fight.
- Do not spend Spirit Rush into his R range unless you can kill before he acts.
- Charm after Infinite Duress often matters more than Charm before it.

WukongUnfavoured
Wukong's dash, Decoy mind game, and Cyclone knockup make the close-range duel difficult once he gets onto Ahri.
Watch for Cyclone: the knockup interrupts your spell chain and keeps Wukong close long enough for his physical burst to finish the trade.
How to beat
Hold beyond Nimbus Strike range when possible and use Q to check him without giving a direct dash target. When he uses Decoy, delay Charm until the real Wukong reappears or commits with Cyclone; firing instantly often hits the clone or empty space. If Nimbus Strike is down and Cyclone has been baited, Ahri can re-enter with Spirit Rush and burst him before his next rotation.
Later Wukong is the more reliable side-lane all-in champion if he finds brush or flank access, while Ahri is better at picks before he engages. In teamfights, do not stack with carries for Cyclone and save a dash to leave his spin rather than spending every charge forward.
- Fox-Fire can reveal the real Wukong's position after Decoy if he stays nearby.
- Charming the clone loses the duel; wait half a beat after he vanishes.
- Armor is unusually valuable here because his damage pattern is mostly physical burst after Nimbus Strike.

ZileanEven
Ahri can kill Zilean if she catches him before Chronoshift, but Time Warp and double Time Bomb trades make forcing that catch awkward.
Watch for Chronoshift: it denies your kill window and can leave Ahri overcommitted after spending Spirit Rush charges.
How to beat
Trade from Q range and avoid standing on minions or allies when Time Bomb is ticking. Bait Time Warp by stepping forward, then back off until the slow or speed window ends before committing Charm. If Chronoshift is ready, either force it with a partial combo and disengage or hold the last Spirit Rush charge to kill him after the revive.
Later Zilean rarely wants the honest side-lane duel, but his teamfight revive can erase Ahri's assassination target. Ahri should pressure him or his carry before Chronoshift is cast, then reset instead of dumping everything into the revived target.
- Do not all-in while a Time Bomb is about to explode on you; it makes his delayed burst reliable.
- If he casts Chronoshift early, stop chasing until the revive timer is nearly gone.
- Charm after Time Warp expires, because the speed swing changes the angle too much.
No champion by that name.
